And to have seen what your parents and grandparents went through in this country because of the color of their and your skin? And, then, to have a black president elected? It is the fruition of a promise made, but never kept, after the Civil War.

just that life can be difficult even for young black boys that are suppose to be innocent. Among that crowd standing could be a very proud mother and father, but also a bunch of envious SOB whom are doing everything within their power to stop that handsome looking young man from progressing.

Power in promises un kept, meaning the empty promises made in respect to human rights have a tendency to deepen resolve and give strength to the cause.

has made the blacks feel like they are part of our country now..and not slaves. I have always felt they should be treated equally. I grew up in a rural area where there were white and black people. We played together, shared things, helped each other. I've never felt that because I'm white that I should have more than blacks. We are all the same...only skin color is different. That has never been a problem for me. I just wish all people would feel the same. What a more wonderful world we would have.

every time I talk to a young person these days, I am impressed by there ability to simplify the issues... I don't know if it is because they are part of the internet generation, but they just get it a lot faster than most.

whether his hair was the same, and Obama leaning down so the child could touch it.

As the story is told, the child was so shy in his first asking of the question that he spoke too softly, and Obama ha to ask him to repeat it. Then when he bent over so the little boy could touch it, the little guy was too shy to do so, so Obama said, "Touch it, Dude!" and thus encouraged, the little boy finally did--and thus we ended up with this:

What a pic.

I haven't seen a president relate to little kids and children in general like that since since Jack Kennedy.

president and children. They always lift my spirits. After teaching for 32 years, children still make me feel good even though I'm not teaching now.

Keep them coming. I think our president has done so much for the African Americans along with Johnson and Kennedy.

and the kid's cute, too. Just kidding! The little boy is so cute all dresssed up in his little suit to meet the President. The eye to eye contact, the little boy's big eyes and the admiration in them. A very moving picture.
