The Senate is mostly not a problem since most of them are in swing states or places where we don't think Obama can help. The only exceptions are Massachusetts and Connecticut. But the house is a much different matter. Of the 23 races real clear politics rate toss up, 6 are in CA, 4 are in IL, 1 in NY, 1 in TX, and 1 in UT. Of the 19 which lean Democratic 1 is in CA, 1 is in CT, 1 is in IL,1 is in MA, 4 are in NY, 1 is in RI, and 1 is in WA. Of the 16 which lean GOP 2 are in AZ, 2 are in CA, 1 is in GA, 1 is in IN, 1 is MT, 1 is in NJ, 3 are in NY, and 1 is in OK. The rest of the seats in those categories are in swing states. Now even if you assume that the holders of the UT, OK, and GA seats don't wish either of them to campaign for him, the rest of the Democrats likely do want such campaigning. So do they spend some time in CA (9 seats), NY (8 seats), IL (5 seats), New England (4 seats) and AZ (2 seats)? Days spent in those states can't be spent elsewhere. But turning out voters in those states could help us win House seats. If we won all of the elections in those categories we would win 22 seats or three seats short. The House will be tough sledding but the tip of the ticket could help.
