I'm trying to counter a FB discussion about Obama suppressing the Military vote. I know that would be stupid because many articles I've read show that the military want Obama and not Romney to continue the path out of Afghanistan and not head into Iran as it looks like Romney wants.
Has anyone seen any polls that were taken of just military? The message is that Obama is suppressing the vote because the military is more conservative now more than ever in the past. I'm pretty sure it's just a ploy to get R's to vote, scare them more, and make them question Obama's win.

The Obama campaign lawsuit seeks to expand the voting period for all voters, not to deprive military voters of that opportunity. The judge sided with the Obama camp, calling the early voting restrictions "arbitrary."

he wasn't 'suppressing' the military vote, he was just trying to make sure EVERYBODY could vote

It's ridiculous, it looks to me that there is just a lot of apathy in the military this election. They're saying that the number of absentee ballot requests is down this election year in comparison to '08. They say the reason is that Obama is keeping the military from implementing voter outreach programs on post. It's really a stretch and we know it's just a way to fuel the R's hate.
I honestly think that more military voted in '08 because they wanted Bush gone and someone who would get them out of Iraq and A'stan in office. They see that happening; Osama is out, A'stan is being cleared out of the military so they don't have an urgency to vote this time.
Hey, thanks for that article!! That's very interesting because my experience with folks in the military has been that the officers tended to be Republican (tho not always of course) and enlisted were Dems (again, not always). Very interesting to see a shift away from identifying with R's when asking the higher ups.
