Ryan anticipates Romney defeat in debate

“President Obama is a gifted speaker,” he said. “This is Mitt’s first time on this kind of a stage.”

But, he also said, “I don’t think one event is going to make or break this campaign.”

Biden is a gifted speaker too. Maybe Romney will support you the same way you're supporting him.

As I remember, the primary season was one long dress rehearsal for debates on stages.

But sharing a debate stage with Bachmann, Cain, and Paul doesn't prepare one for sharing one with Obama.

4. Just keep lowering expectations...

It doesn't matter. It doesn't how much you lower the bar, Lyan' Ryan. Because however low you make it, I just have a feeling that Mittens will blow the knockout punch you guys are trying to plan, will fall flat on his face and end up sliding under the bar. Even if you manage to lay it on the ground.

They still haven't learned, maybe because they are one-trick ponies. Mittens winds up and swings a big, obvious punch aimed at Obama's nose. And somehow manages to bash himself in the face every. single. time.

President O doesn't even need to sidestep. Mittens just keeps punching himself in the nose over and over and over. And then President O adds a little kick and knocks him flat down.

And now he's planning on delivering a big KO punch in the form of a practiced zinger. President O won't fall for the lure and take the conversation where it needs to go for the prepared zinger. Mittens will start to sweat and try to force it.

And I'll lay you odds he does it again. Winds up and delivers a huge punch. Knocks himself flat out.

7. And they still have the Koch brothers' gift of '$400 million to defeat Obama.'

Ryan no doubt believes in Citizen United, where dollars are voters. And their dollars outnumber the registered voters, so they believe they should win. As if our lives and our nation are nothing but chips in a high-stakes poker game. Their idea of democracy is collecting dead presidents to run for the office of POTUS. Or the other version:

Lyan Ryan, as usual, is spinning. It won't be that President Obama is a gifted speaker that wins the debate, he's talking about salemanship, not the ideas being offered. Actually, Obama is not that good, with tone, cadence, timing, etc.

Salesmen are very good at that, not intellectuals. Obama's pattern of speaking shows he's always thinking about the big and small picture, not the means of persuasion. He puts his ideas out there for people to accept or reject, as the puts himself out there to be accepted or rejected. Or in this increasingly vitriolic climate, killed for daring to speak against the RW meme, period.

Obama has said America must choose between the two different visions of the future being offered in 2012. There are many Americans who are set against government intervention to help other people even in the mildest forms. It's foolish to deny that, no matter how much we liberals are offended. And they are voting against our vision.

Obama is going to lay out his vision, as the DNC convention did so well, showing how many have benefitted from our philosophy of governing.

The right and Romney and Ryan will attempt to sell the nation on privatization to the point there is no government left to oppose the private forces that Roosevelt warned us about. We are a long way from those days, and the conservatives have amassed the grassroots and organizations they have paid to make their fascist system work.

It's happening state by state, not just in Michigan or Wisconsin or Florida and Texas. The push is all over the place.

Obama will make the case for a government of the people, Romney and Ryan will make the case for corporatist rule. Let's see what the American people want. There will be no buyer's remorse later if the R/R team makes the sale.

Ryan is worried Obama's populist message will sell, but not about Romney. Dogwhistles will be used during the debate along with many zingers from Romney and Ryan when he gets his turn. Obama won't do that.

Let's just hope the American people have gotten wise to this.
