Why we need laws against anti-Islam internet posts

Here is a perfect example. Somebody who might be a Buddhist posts a picture on Facebook and a bunch of Buddhist temples get burned down.

I see this as entirely the fault of the Buddhists. Yelling "fire" in a crowded theater isn't like the sound of one hand clapping... it has consequences. If the Buddhists did not allow somebody somewhere in the world who might be a Buddhist to post something or another on Facebook then nobody would be required by the dictates of common sense to burn down a neighborhood of people they don't like.

Hundreds of Muslims in Bangladesh burned at least four Buddhist temples and 15 homes of Buddhists on Sunday after complaining that a Buddhist man had insulted Islam, police and residents said.Members of the Buddhist minority in the Cox's Bazar area in the southeast of the country said unidentified people were bent on upsetting peaceful relations between Muslims and Buddhists.

Muslims took to the streets in the area late on Saturday to protest against what they said was a photograph posted on Facebook that insulted Islam. The protesters said the picture had been posted by a Buddhist and they marched to Buddhist villages and set fire to temples and houses.

Police said they had deployed extra security forces and banned gatherings in Buddhist-dominated areas.

We already have laws against any group using fear and violence, and just because they are whatever religion doesn't make them immune to following those laws.

quit going off of the deep-end every time the smallest criticism was lodged against their religion, people would stop being critical.

If you go off the deep end every time someone criticizes you, you can't really expect people to think you are rational.

and we can't have such laws.

though I would avoid "insulting Islam" at the moment. By choice, not because it is against the law.

Or maybe that was just an excuse, and they wanted to attack the Buddhists for other reasons.

13. Maybe we should outlaw violent movies

because sometimes mentally ill people react to them.

Maybe we should outlaw alcohol because sometimes people get drunk and drive.

Maybe we should ban large sugary drinks because some people are fat. (Oh wait...)
