Romney Debate "Zinger" Drinking Game

Every time Romney delivers a clearly scripted in advance "Zinger", down goes a glass of beer.

Every time he doesn't muff the delivery, follow that with a chaser.

If Romney thinks remembering to deliver some 5 second lines that his staff wrote for him in advance will get him elected President, he is delusional. But maybe, just maybe, if he says them half convincingly enough CNN may offer him a job as a commentator after he's lost and the dust has settled (FOX still won't touch him with a 10 foot boon mic).

2. Exactly. As if that will show America that he is the right man to lead us in dangerous times...

The more fun we have in advance with this whole "zinger" concept, the more we ridicule his attempt to rebuild his campaign around one liners, the more pathetic and ineffective they will be even if he remembers his lines.

4. Just 4 words, all virtually monosyllabal. Romney may be able to rattle that off without muffing it.

Yup, something like that would be a beer with chaser moment. I really doubt however that Romney can pull off anything more complex like "... I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you are no Jack Kennedy."

I honestly think zingers no longer have the same potential sting that they once did anyway. Not since cable TV became the norm. Now we have SNL and the Comedy Channel. America loves one liners but people know that we aren't electing a clever pundit or Entertainer in Chief. Zingers are obviously scripted and tell us NOTHING about a candidate, are rarely open a new line of attack. Gaffs, however, can still have a major impact.

9. That one is a no-brainer. It needs a drink for if he DOESN'T use it...

...given how much he's telegraphed that he's dying to have that "Reagan moment" -- forgetting that Reagan was a better public speaker than he is, and he had Carter's playbook to plan out what sort of things he could use.

What sort of drinks should there be for Obama taking one of Romney's "zingers" and beating him silly with it?

maybe a shot for every time he smacks his lips

maybe another for every time he gives that weird automated giggle

...but then again, I don't want any of us to end up in the hospital!

how can Obama respond to that? The pundits will call it brilliant. Politifact will rate it "mostly true".
