3 countries join U.S. security alert in Philippines

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2012/09/29/us-security-alert-philippines/1602427/

MANILA, Philippines (AP) -- Britain, Australia and Canada have joined the United States in warning their citizens of a security threat in the Philippines, particularly in the capital, Manila.

Philippine authorities say they have no information of a specific threat against Westerners but are treating the warnings seriously.

On Friday, the U.S. Embassy in Manila said "reliable security forces" detected a threat specifically in suburban Pasay City where it maintains a residential facility and a Veterans Affairs office. It urged U.S. citizens to avoid gatherings that may be regarded as "American events."

Metropolitan Manila police chief Leonardo Espina said Saturday that he had ordered heightened security for embassies with increased patrols by uniformed and plainclothes officers. Such measures were put in place after attacks that killed the American ambassador in Libya.

there have full security/protection in place by our Marines?

or are we to again hear the lame excuse as to why Ambassador Stevens ended up dead at our consulate in
Benghazi-- "we don't have enough Marines" to post them at our consulates??

with all due respect, mercs don't have a good record lately... i.e. the BULLcrap that went down in
Iraq

the point is with the Billions we spend each and every year on our bloated defense dept, it's more than a bit
lame to state crap like we don't have enough Marines to protect our people/consulates in crappy unstable
nations like Libya. it's just UNacceptable

Its in the city on the bay with massive fences all around. Terrorists would have a hard time attacking that facility.
