Now Rmoney is running around saying he will WIN Pennsylvania
Pretty big charge for someone down 10-12 points, and not only in PA but in all the swing states
Is it another 2000 and 2004 when they stole our election and we let them have it?
I really am soul searching and asking myself, will we allow it to happen another time?
THE ONLY WAY THEY CAN WIN THIS ELECTION IS IF THEY CHEAT AND STEAL IT THROUGH THEIR CORRUPT REPUBLICAN STATE ADMINISTRATIONS - CORRUPT SECRETARIES OF STATE, FLIPPING VOTE MACHINES, AND ON AND ON.

(15,481 posts)the dem motto, and you may win one once in a while, but that's it. The process of protecting democracy is rather important. The right wing supreme court and the congress are but 2 examples of get out the vote instead of counting the votes.

(6,714 posts)I guess the polls really were skewed!
Waltons_Mtn
(345 posts)I believe that this is why we are having the "polls are skewed" conversation. That are trying to put doubt into peoples minds so that when then steal a State or two, they will say, "look the polls were biased and our counting machines get it right see." And enough people will say, "OK maybe the polls were biased." Then they can continue looting this country.

Not saying they don't plan on trying to steal it though..of course they do. It worked for bush didn't it? But, we do have the Obama Team now..so we're gonna see.

(47,675 posts)There's no way he can legitimately win, and even the USSC has to know that. They can't pull a shrub move with this one and still have a shred of credibility left.

(28,151 posts)We (local Dem party) schedule poll watchers. People at every location and most of them are lawyers who donate their services for the day. Any problems arise we have legal help on hand to help solve problem on the spot or call in official help and sound the alarm.
Of course this takes work and organization but we think it's worth the effort. I wish everyone did this, then we wouldn't have these problems.

I believe the correct answer is "paper ballots, hand counted, in public, cameras rolling".

(28,151 posts)I would guess many places do. There are a lot of smaller communities out there that can't afford the "upgrade".
Ballots aside there are other issues like voter intimidation, voters being refused the right to vote. With so many new voter ID laws in place there are likely to be on the rise and what we do in my county would be a good way to address these.

(8,559 posts)...will be helpful to them, but not enough to turn it Mitt's way -- key swing states, Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania to name three, will have to be veritable e-vote flipping extravaganzas (ala Chimpy in '04) on election night if Mittens is to be installed as our next POTUS.
AndyTiedye
(23,500 posts)It is pretty obvious that they intend to do exactly that this year in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, at least.
Teabaggers control the state houses and legislature in all of those states. They will be counting the votes.

I would give a pretty penny to see the Romney internal polling numbers, they have to be catastrophic since the stench of doom coming off of them is almost palpable.
In all reality, for all intents and purposes, they have two weeks now.
Fourteen days.
That's it.
After the second debate, they will be in full panic mode.
Mark it.

(7,515 posts)The election in 2000 was stolen...Jeb and his Sec't of State Katherine Harris heavily purged the voter rolls, closed polling places without notice and without giving any information about where voters needed to go... everyone focuses on the Palm Beach County, Hanging Chad fiasco.... I remember seeing an interview of George on an airplane shortly before the election. He was asked about FL which was trending blue...He said 'I'm not worried about FL, Jeb has FL under control." I realized just what he was talking about when I went to bed thinking Gore had won and woke up to find the Shrub was going to be the new president.

(11,481 posts)It would have to be BLATANTLY obvious for some on here to not blame it on a "conspiracy theory". It depends on whether that meme wins the day or not.
I've always found it interesting that the official Democratic response to outright election fraud is GOTV. It's like they're OK with electoral fraud, they just think they can overcome it with numbers. What happens when even numbers don't work anymore? After all, when you let someone get away with something, it's no big deal to go on to the next step. IOW, they'll continue to do it EVEN MORE BLATANTLY until they're stopped. Do you still just ignore it and blame Nader?

(15,124 posts)posed by the OP---"We must PREVENT the theft of this election!"---and some will propose legal action to correct the injustice.
If these are all we're willing to do, don't bother. Just don't bother.
If we aren't willing to clog the streets with hundreds of thousands of indignant mad-as-hell American citizens---if we are not willing to butt heads with the baggers and the riot police---if we are not ready to shut it all down and DEMAND meaningful recounts and prosecution of ALL who participated in the theft, from Rove on down---then don't bother posting about your indignation and your outrage. Don't bother calling yourself a liberal or a progressive or a Democrat because, by your cowardice and your apathy, you will have agreed that none of that shit really means anything.

(8,515 posts)I do see differences, however small. Obama and his team seem to be highly organized, so I do not believe this will be a surprise. He is handling everything that's thrown his way. He has excellent help from the Clintons, his wife and staff; so, I am hoping that he has a plan. The Chicago machine is alive and kicking, and I have to say, for the first time, I am very glad we have some meanies who can think like Karl Rove, Norquist, etc. Though slowly, I have come to appreciate his chess moves and downright brilliance when it comes to these stubborn and vicious monkeys. I also find it amazing that lately even my very conservative best friend and sister, have succumbed to his charm. Don't know if it will change their votes, but they now admire our President's statesmanship, and Michelle's charm and brilliance. Honestly, these two, nor their family ever make a mistake.
So, I am worried also, but I honestly think they will pull it off. I am hoping and praying that they will be well protected, as well as the Bidens and the Clintons. I don't think I have every seen a time when we were more cohesive as a party and so respected all over the world and full of stars and beautiful people. I am very proud of all of them, and, many that I have not enumerated. Our stars are shining brightly, while their's are flickering.
