Seems like ages ago, but it was just the other day that the republicans stole two elections for bush jr., I remember the longest election night in history, a month went by before they had enough trickery to cheat their way into the white house, and America simply accepted it and the disastrous 8 bush jr. years happened.
I know, votes were counted, votes were thrown away, votes were faked, but being the good sports we are, we accepted it.
Will we just accept it again, and then accept 4 to 8 years of mitt romney and bush jr.'s war pig pirates behind him?
We know they don't play fair, we know they are even now trying to steal it, I just hope that we the people put up a better fight than last time the gop stole it. The thought of a romney/ryan administration should scare the hell out of us all, and we can't let them get away with it.
I just wonder how the nation will react when the gop attempts to steal the election again.

(4,003 posts)I think the reaction will be similar to when Bush stole the White House. Acceptance.

(1,451 posts)want to go there. But since you asked. I don't think it will be pretty. That is why we must put more people out there than they can sway the numbers. They are counting on Hate for our President and their Money to rule this election. And we are counting on Love and the sheer will of the People and hard work to Change their version of the outcome.

(2 posts)Thank you for that very wonderful post. I have to agree. We have to get off our duffs and help those who need it in getting to the polling places and start sending out truth "packages" to those who are not knowledgeable about what is really going on.

(24,461 posts)Mitt has to pull off a rally not seen since Bush 41-Dukakis to even come close. I really don't think that's possible, taking outright theft out of the picture and given Mitt's propensity for jaw-droppingly dumb remarks and being the star of weekly foot-shooting videos.
So you may just see massive protests if the gap remains wide come November.

(2,667 posts)It took the strength of the Bush family machine, and particularly the amorality of Georges' (Jr and Sr) senior advisors, to steal the elections of 2000 and 2004 - Mitt Romney doesn't have that sort of support or clout.
They won't steal it for him because they don't really want him to have it that badly.

(47,675 posts)I don't trust the Diebold machines (Yes, I know the machines and intellectual property were sold twice and now in the hands of ES&S).
Diebolds can be hacked and that is frightening. I cannot believe they are still in use.

Violence will happen if the election is stolen. You may not hear it explained that way on the news. But let's face it, at least a quarter of the workplace shootings can be explained as blow-back for economic crimes or misdeeds against the individual worker, but never are presented that way.
Almost every military Suicide (16 per day, every day) is really just a shooting in reaction to the results of the 2000 election if you think about it.

(19,841 posts)1. They will try to steal the presidential any way they can, especially with Santa's helpers around the country feeling they're doing the Lord's work against the devil Obama.
2. There will be challenges --whether re the executive, or local reps. Hopefully we are better prepared legally.
3. Some mainstream media WILL cover the evidence of theft immediately (at least MSNBC will)--unlike 2000.
4. If it has been obviously stolen--and nothing is done for correction--there will be people in the streets, & in DC protesting. This is a crucial time for this country--we can't risk another Boosh. I think many people would be prepared to demonstrate en masse. I would and I'm not much of a demonstrator. But I can't see them getting away with stealing it again. There would be too much anger to contain. Americans have a downtrodden ostriche mentality (having been victimized & abused) but there IS a limit. After Rmoney's overt statements of exploitation and arrogance...I don't think things would be quiet. There is a limit to how much abuse people will put up with.

If Obama asserts he - and the American people - were robbed and mounts an effective and public counterattack then I think many will rally behind him and take to the streets.
In my opinion, it'll be how Obama reacts.

(27,453 posts)within the party to put much effort into stealing this. Too many states would have to flip at the last minute and that might be harder to pull of than just one. Too many variables play into that senario. One state maybe but 9? The GOP isn't that competant. Too many people will be poll watching and discrepancies will hit the Internet almost immediately.
The focus will turn to the congressional races in 2014 and to finding a winnable candidate for 2016.

The solution, as always, is VOTER TURNOUT. The more "eligible voters" who drop the prefix and become "voters", the harder an election is to steal.
