that it was complications from cardiac arrest.

(24,654 posts)I remember the show, and it was the first thing I thought of when I saw this announcement.
I don't remember the name of the actress in the role that said this line, but damn, I can hear her belting it right now.

(9,205 posts)She was played by Shuko Akune. I had forgotten E/R starred Eliot Gould.

(9,205 posts)Hot L Baltimore where she played a prostitute hysterically. It only lasted three months in early 1975 even though the cast also included James Cromwell, Richard Masur, and Charlotte Rae, and being produced by Norman Lear.

(7,649 posts)Rather racy for the era in which it aired, as I recall.

(9,205 posts)Pretty out there for 1975. It aired with a warning against potentially offensive subject matter at the beginning of the show.

One year on CBS. Loved it. "Stay back of the white line!!"
I think Lou Rawls did the theme song.

(12,447 posts)She played a lonely, overweight, donut-shop employee who was surprised she was pregnant and had to give up the baby because she couldn't possibly afford to care for it. The last scene where she's leaving the hospital is one of the most moving performances I've ever seen. I only saw the episode once, when it first aired in the '80s, yet still it haunts me, and inspires my politics.

(1,789 posts)was last week the day before Eddie Van Halen died. Freaky thing was that Eddie was a guest star on that episode. Maybe they knew he was sick and aired it, but he was still alive.
She was awesome on that show and many others. We watch a lot of old sitcoms on over the air digital networks, and I caught her on an episode of Barney Miller. She was very slender, but the voice was instantly recognizable.
