I voted!! So happy to have it DONE. I drove the two ballots from my household to the Elections Office here in Missoula and the place was absolutely packed...both the walk in elections office and the drive through. The line of cars for the drive through drop box was wrapped around the block and has been all day long. I can say that because the Elections Office is a half block from my office. The drive through attendant told me he had just filled three ballot boxes and was filling the fourth for the morning. I most likely cancelled out the tRump humper's ballot ahead of me in the drive through line...so there's that.

(15,373 posts)And even more congratulations because you live in lovely Missoula!
I lived there for nine years in the 70s and still have many good friends and former colleagues there!

(23,337 posts)I moved here in 1977. It is a wonderful place, imho...more to do than I have time or money. The art, literature and music scene is second to none. The opportunities for outdoor recreation are vast which is is especially great in these scary times. It is great to be able to go outside and find solitude...I will say that it has become quite expensive to live here. Housing and property taxes are out of sight. Still, it is home and I'm grateful to be here. I bet we know some of the same people!! Old Missoula is well connected.

(15,373 posts)we do too.
My husband and I were last there in Sept 2017 and spent two nights with a former colleague/very good friend. While there, we went to an impromptu neighborhood party.
The group was an eclectic mix of people with interests in all of the things that you mention above and we had a marvelous time!
While I love where I live right now, Missoula will always be one of the places in my heart. Always!

(7,286 posts)Big outbreak of COVID here. 20 cases today been running that way for a week getting worse
We are in 14 day lockdown ending 10/25
What they think happened was they held in person voting for Tribal Council primary big turn out and maybe a super spreader event. They should have learned from the outbreak after the Sundance this summer
But Havre is blowed up too so that may be the source
Anyhow, voting. They had trouble mailing ballots and they are sitting in p.o. boxes.Off the Rez and folks can't leave home unless emergency etc. They do have a guy who collects and delivers ballots but they are not allowing him to do so due to COVID risk
They being incident command whom are absolutely overwhelmed ( poor planning, impossible to contact them) They must be overloaded because they just announced one person from household may leave the Agency on Thursday or Friday so maybe folks can access their mail boxes

(23,337 posts)We really need the NA vote in MT. I hope folks can get to their mailboxes in time to vote.
The spike is happening here too. Mostly 20-29 year olds...stemming from the University of MT. I was just notified of the 4th case at my sons high school. My kiddo and his dad leave for the youth opener big game hunt tomorrow...Im relieved that he will be out of school from tomorrow afternoon until next Wednesday. Maybe some of the virus will dissipate be the time he comes home.
We have a long haul ahead of us GB. Please stay safe.

(7,286 posts)They closed the season on the Rez, but added 2 weeks at the end
Before the lockdown, it was one activity that was allowed to break curfew before 6 am. It's a safe COVID activity in these parts. I had been tramping from here to Canada without seeing anyone but Border Agents. Lots of deer and some birds
They need those NA votes for sure, folks around here hate Trump and love Bullock
Best of luck to your men on the hunt let me know how they do. The lockdown is thru the opener here
