Romney to the 47%: well done!
Dateline: The Twilight Zone -
Mitt Romney issued a statement today saying that Americans who pay no income tax are providing an inspiration to taxpayers everywhere.
"Taking advantage of all legal means of reducing tax liability is at the foundation of personal responsibility and we should take a moment to recognize the achievements of those people."
Mr. Romney went on to point out that while he has yet to accomplish this on his own taxes, he hopes to take a lesson from the 47%.
"Those people have raised the bar for real Americans. My accountants are studying these tax strategies and are confident that soon I'll be able to say that when it comes to paying no income taxes, we're all in this together."
