(102,405 posts)I certainly have had times when I felt "outside the joke", but damn. He's outside of EVERYTHING.

(129,608 posts)Just wow. This man can NEVER be made President.
Dear God... people of the U.S.

(50,566 posts)I've decided that Romney reminds me of Richard Pryor doing an impression of the doofiest white guy you could ever imagine. "Excellent! That's just so excellent!"

(47,625 posts)Its embarrassing to see anyone that awkward and inept.

(28,876 posts)The complete opposite of Obama's natural charisma and easy way with people. But then again, Obama has spent his life living with the common folk, whereas Romney has spent his living above us.
PatSeg
(47,625 posts)He has lived in a bubble that isn't quite like other people's lives. A lot of that has to do with his religion that tends to set itself apart from the rest of society. Its not that it is necessarily better or worse, it is just that it often tends to be separate. So when Mitt looks like he's rather clueless, I think he really is clueless, like a traveler in a strange land.

(50,495 posts)he's talking to other 1%ers. The ONLY time he seemed genuine, comfortable and told the truth about what he REALLY believes was in the 47% speech, imo.

(42,290 posts)He seems to be genuinely uncomfortable around people.
And as president, he'd be CONSTANTLY surrounded by people.

(13,776 posts)I almost felt sorry for him until I remembered that he's not an awkward kid trying to make friends, he's a grown man who's destroyed thousands of lives.
pamela
(3,469 posts)I don't feel sorry for him. If he was with his buddies, cutting the hair of a gay kid, or hanging with his millionaire buddies, he would be perfectly at ease.

(53,235 posts)He's a cold, heartless, callous misery-maker.

(3,660 posts)After the presidential inauguration in January, Joe (no fan of Mitt RomneysIve been very critical) plans on publishing a memoir that will serveno jokeas a vehicle to test the waters for a presidential run in 2016. Take that, Mr. Romney.
If you go to the article be forewarned that there is an odd picture of Joe and Mika... they had her pose in a very sexually provocative way, staring at him adoringly
which is a little creepy
But the point is I think joe's own grandiose plans make him a little more vocal and overt than he would be otherwise.

(5,420 posts)If he is planning to run. We need info on his dead intern before he jumps in the ring.

(31,243 posts)insular bubble of country clubs and boardrooms, Mitt doesn't have a clue about real people. He should be embarrassed, but the problem is he doesn't know what to be embarrassed about. It's sad.

(1,259 posts)he's led a very sheltered life
Tarheel_Dem
(31,243 posts)doesn't fit. You're right. He's lead a very sheltered and insulated life, and his cultural insensitivity is just astounding and sad. Just goes to show that money can't buy values.

(25,415 posts)Al Gore and John Kerry were slightly shy but they seemed to actually like people. Mittens doesn't seem to want to interact with those below him.

(30,439 posts)just so effin weird.

(8,377 posts)That isn't the problem. Those are just selected clips from normal campaigning. If any of us were on the campaign trail, somebody could put together something equally awkward and embarrassing.
Rooney's problem is not how gracefully he does small talk. He problem is what he believes, his moral/ethical foundations, and what he will do to this country if elected. This video is a diversion.
