You know how someone struggles to find their bearings when they're riding a unicycle for the first time? That's what Romney looks like every time he's campaigning. He can't seem to find his groove and he just sort of emotionally gyrates across the stage, while trying to smile through the implosion.

148. Here is my take on that line from Mika.....
Thu Sep 27, 2012, 02:19 AM
Sep 2012

She said it right after "The Joe" muttered "Sweet Jesus!"

At first I wondered as well what she was referring to, and then I stopped to consider "The Newt's" hubris in thinking of himself as the rejected savior of our country (as in having been rejected just like Jesus Christ was). So, by her having interjected "The Newt's" name in place of the "Sweet Jesus" reference from "The Joe", she was making another political dig at the right wing, in addition to the one she had already made by showing the original clip of Romney's hubris in trying to exhort an unenthusiastic (rejecting) crowd into stroking his huge ego.

I think what she said is what is known as "piling on", and it is definitely a tribute to her quick wit.

But I could be mistaken. Perhaps there is someone else who has a different take on it.

Upon edit - "wit" instead of "whit".

President Obama would've loved it. But Romney is so arrogant that he just couldn't let that stand. Dog forbid his own VP "overshadow" him even for a few seconds. What an ass.

These days, Romney reminds me of the guy who is a jerk sober, that you one day find drunkenly walking around with his dick hanging out. You aren't sure that telling him is going to make him put it back in his pants, so you find yourself in a quandary. At the same time, you can't help but feel a little schadenfreude, revulsion and some guilt for thinking it's funny. Then you remember what a tool he is sober, so you keep your mouth shut and carry on. Embarrassing!

67. I'm pretty sure Roman Catholics are the only one's who pray the "Hail Mary"
Wed Sep 26, 2012, 11:51 AM
Sep 2012

the prayer goes like this:
"Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at
the hour of our death. Amen"

the reason Protestants don't use it is because they pray directly to God, Jesus, Holy Spirit and don't believe in using an inteccesor.

Mitt couldn' stand Ryan getting any attention and it showed so well in this clip.

I'm kind of beside myself. Romney is a much bigger asshole, a much bigger egotist than I think many (including me) realized.

HUGE ego. Totally pointless comment for him to make. Very out of touch.

Lyin' Ryan has a strained look on his face throughout this clip. This is the first time I've noticed Ryan looking outright uncomfortable next to Rmoney. To me, Ryan looks like he's now starting to wonder how he ever got hooked up with that dweeb. (Ed., bigger dweeb than himself, that is)

...it was also a little scary. This is what the Republican base has come to. As scary as the presidential candidate is, these folks want the even scarier running mate. They were more fired up over Sarah Palin than over John McCain and now this. The Republicans of the Bush/Cheney era look downright sane by comparison. At least those Republicans consistently gave Dick Cheney low approval ratings.

because, like Barbtries, I have a habit of feeling sympathy for people getting humiliated (even if those people are assholes). But I caught the last few milliseconds of the Chant That Failed and watched the rest of the clip. Mika looked like she was working very hard not to burst into giggles. I also loved her comment that "It's too late" for a Hail Mary.

Romney's social incompetence to the point of cruelty. Scarborough was caught completely off guard. Beautiful. And the two poor stiffs opposite were fighting the urge to bring up their breakfast.

She's a pistol almost as good as Rachel. Almost which means very very good.

Edit to add notice just after the Mittster's over the top praise of Ryan, Ryan holds his palm out as if to say, "Shut up before you say too.......fuck too late."

Romney's lack of ability to react quickly and appropriately in casual settings, like pressers and photo ops, is going to cost him dearly in the debates. Barack Obama will do what Mike did in the above clip. He will peel Romney's skin off like a ripe banana.
