A friend texted me this morning: Do you realize how crazy it is that police groups are endorsing a man who refuses to condemn white supremacy? Then they wonder why there is a lack of trust for the police in the black community?

(19,253 posts)White Supremacy and law enforcement are linked tightly. There are white supremacists embedded in almost every force in the country.

Didn't surprise me. Trump and republicans seem to think being a democrat means you are weak.
We need education in our country on what real strength is.

(669 posts)There is a lot of crossover between law enforcement and white supremacy. Law enforcement began as slave patrols, so I'm not surprised.

(906 posts)Constitutional Sheriff's and Peace Officers Association. Look it up. Some of our rural sheriffs are part of this group!
The guy running against Inslee could be a member. After the article I read in the Seattle times he sounds scary kinda Randy Weaver type.
From the Seattle times article get to know Culp
On the dusty, unpaved road leading to Loren Culps house, a no trespassing sign calls out a warning to all public officials or agents thereof.
Quoting the U.S. Constitution, the sign declares any officer or person who attempts to enter the property without a warrant will be treated as any other intruder would when attempting to extort, injure, oppress, threaten, harass, intimidate
In case that isnt clear enough, visitors may consider the message in the roads name, which Culp picked himself: Goa Way.
The prickly pun fits with the platform of the small-town police chief running as the Republican challenger to Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee. A proud conservative who rose to prominence for refusing to enforce a voter-passed gun-control initiative, Culp says government should be small and mostly butt out of peoples lives

These are the crazy kind of cops or even every day people that you need to watch who say we dont need big government but then want to be in charge
Or when there property burns say
Why didnt you do something or come fix the roads telephone pools etc NOW

(3,723 posts)Any truly sane white person shouldn't feel safe either with this attitude within the police. Either our police uphold all the laws or none of them. They can't, with any sense of justice, uphold just some of them and they can't, with any sense of decency, uphold the laws for just some of the people.
