"The Stench" Paul Ryan's alleged nickname of Mitt behind his back

Paul Ryan vs. The Stench
Simon says despite Dan Senor’s efforts, Ryan veered off message in Orlando, Fla. | AP Photo

By ROGER SIMON | 9/25/12 4:38 AM EDT
Paul Ryan has gone rogue. He is unleashed, unchained, off the hook.

“I hate to say this, but if Ryan wants to run for national office again, he’ll probably have to wash the stench of Romney off of him,” Craig Robinson, a former political director of the Republican Party of Iowa, told The New York Times on Sunday.

Coming from a resident of Iowa, a state where people are polite even to soybeans, this was a powerful condemnation of the Republican nominee.

Though Ryan had already decided to distance himself from the floundering Romney campaign, he now feels totally uninhibited. Reportedly, he has been marching around his campaign bus, saying things like, “If Stench calls, take a message” and “Tell Stench I’m having finger sandwiches with Peggy Noonan and will text him later.”

Even before the stench article appeared, there was a strong sign that Ryan was freeing himself from the grips of the Romney campaign. It began after his disastrous appearance on Friday before AARP in New Orleans. Ryan delivered his remarks in the style dictated by his Romney handlers: Stand behind the lectern, read the speech as written and don’t stray from the script.

Dan Senor, one of Romney’s closest advisers, has kept a tight grip on Ryan, traveling with him everywhere and making sure he hews to the directions of the Romney “brain trust” in Boston. (A brain trust, rumor has it, that refers to Ryan as “Gilligan.”)

And they dare to think they can run a country?

And what the fuck is wrong with people who vote for these fuckers?

Up to now, Lyin' Ryan has been somewhat of a conservative Golden Boy, supposedly gifted with great political powers and advanced inteligence. Now that Lyin' Ryan has been sharing the stinky spotlight with Rmoney, it has become apparent that Lyin' Ryan is just that: a lying son-of-a-bitch with no special powers and perhaps average intelligence.

Sucks to be Eddie Munster.

He was flying pretty good till he got linked up with an idiot.

So much is coming out about him that he'll have a hard time
getting elected to anything in the future.

Now, well see Ryan struggling to run his own campaign
and
Mitt trying to put spin on his spin and dodge all the "Hey, what do you think about
when Ryan said this and that?"

It's going to be a real....well
Let's just say they ought to make a TV series out of it -
Call it "The Wrest Wing" or "East of Sodom"

A GOP consultant really said that Ryan would need to get the stench of Romney off of him. Ryan really does use PowerPoint. The rest of the piece is comedy.

But since the reporter who wrote it is not John Stewart or Stephen Colbert, people are going to believe it.

Most slang words don't match their dictionary definition. This was an hurtful term used at my HS, so this story was actually rather startling and seemed quite authentic to me even though it's a term I hadn't even thought about since the late 80's. This "satire" has brought back some very bad memories of that time.

Bullies like him could get away with calling people like me "stenches" without penalty because teachers didn't know the scope of the word. It's a slur I haven't heard (or have been called) in over 20 years, and I'm stunned that it's still in his vocabulary! This has brought back some rather horrible memories for me. What would happen if he pulled out of the campaign? Anyone thought about that? It's a free country; you can't be forced to run for VP so why not try to make up for losses. But the question would be whether it would stigmatize Ryan's political future as a turn coat or if it would actually help him recoup.

If he did pull out, damn, that would be some downer for the Repugs let alone Romney.
