this cabal will fudge the numbers to undercount blue states and shift the house of reps to more red states.

I'd rather see Biden have a crack at it.

in the meantime, Ross should be arrested.

Trump will probably do if he gets a decision he disagrees with. We are hurtling down the road to anarchy if shit breaks the wrong way.

the ideological make up of the Court. But, the Constitution does also provide a strong argument for the redo. So if Wilbur Ross is allowed to get away with defying a court order I don't really see a better way to fight back.

That said, I don't see any judge sitting still for what Ross is trying to pull.

If he's willing to do that, then you are right, there is nobody to enforce it.

Should be interesting because I don't expect the judge to do nothing.

level of good faith.

For instance, if (this is all extremely hypothetical) if the House and the Senate passed a bill stating chattel slavery for non-whites was legal again, and the POTUS signed it, then obviously it would instantly be challenged in federal court as violating the 13th amendment.

BUT, when it goes to the SCOTUS (lets say a 6-1 or 7-1 or 8-1 crazed RW SCOTUS, as Breyer is replaced with a RWer or dies and Sotomayor is laid low by her chronic type 1 diabetes and if a Rethug Senate, they will never again (this part is NOT hypothetical) confirm a Dem SCOTUS nominee as long as they control the Senate) and they say, too bad, so sad, the law doesn't violate the Constitutional at all, so 'enslave away, the fields await!' for people like me racially.

Who is going to stop it via CONSTITUTIONAL means, as long as they slavers hold one part of Congress (no laws to end it can be passed then) and the POTUS?

Hell, a law could be passed that ends it, but the slavers will run it up to the SCOTUS, who say now that ENDING the slave-legalising law is unconstitutional.

there will obviously be insane violence, and resistance, etc

but unless the US military performs a coup d'état (they likely would, BUT that is also the death of the union and the republic that emanates from it), we are fucked and off to a millions-killing civil war.

The constitutional process is far from perfect, as we all have seen. This presidency and this Republican party together have exposed those rocks like never before. We could very well be seeing a dying republic. Hopefully we sweep the election and try to hang on. Not much more we can do.
