WTF??
Q Thank you, Kayleigh. Yesterday, the Senate released an 87-page report on Hunter Biden and Joe Bidens dealings across the board of Ukraine and with Russia. Specifically, it showed Hunter Biden supporting Russian prostitution, human trafficking, receiving $3.5 million from Moscow.
The question to you is: Does the White House have any intention of helping the DOJ should an investigation be opened up on the Bidens?
And number two: Do you have a response to Rudy Giuliani yesterday telling us that this should immediately disqualify Joe Biden from his candidacy?
MS. MCENANY: Yeah, those were that was a very troubling report. You know, Ill leave it to the DOJ as to how they move forward. But, I mean, I think this New York Post cover says it all. You know I heard so much about Russia collusion, but it appears the only collusion going on was between Hunter Biden, as he accepted $3.5 million from the wife of the Moscow mayor. Very troubling, indeed. And in addition to that, Ukraine money, as well. And its good that the Senate looked into that.

(6,255 posts)[Edit] According to the NY Times, the report -- spearheaded by Republicans -- found no evidence of wrongdoing. It just rehashed stuff from weeks ago.
But sure, Faux Bullshit is raising it up the flagpole anyway. Fuck them.

(5,127 posts)I'm sure they will holler the Biden administration is suppressing the media. That would be bullshit. We need to draw the line and restore normalcy and dignity. During the Clinton, Bush, Reagan years, Would anyone have thought it was normal to have the National Enquirer or any of those trashy magazines, that wrote stories about alien babies, at the White House asking ridiculous questions?
We've descended into utter madness. This kind of nonsense used to be left to those trashy magazines.

(13,571 posts)Originally, the White House Correspondents Association was the credentialing authority for reporters covering the WH. Actually, the credential went to the news outlet, not the individual reporter. There were rules, and there was order. Example: there was an order in which questions could be asked. AP always was first (Helen Thomas).
The Association at one point ceded its credentialing power to the White House press office. There is no protection of access for reporters, and this WH has seized the opportunity to let stooges and shills and plants into the James Brady Briefing Room.
Not that long ago, in the GW Bush term, Karl Rove allowed a particularly unsavory character access to the briefings. Jeff Gannon. He was a freeper and a bad actor. He was exposed by a member of DU who realized the guy was a fraud/freeper. A Washington scandal ensued, covered in WaPo and other publications.
This WH abuses and punishes members of the press corps.
The White House Correspondents Association needs to stand up, step up, and retrieve their collective power. Reporters covering Congress have access codified in Senate Rules. A similar rule or resolution needs adoption to cover WH press.
(And sadly the current president of the WHCA is too cozy with Trump to do what needs to be done.)

(82,849 posts)McEnany would only say that it was a very troubling report. Which means that when someone asks her later about the administration buying into a totally bogus bunch of bullshit, she'll deny anyone in the administration ever said or believed such a thing. The dog-and-pony show is for Kayleigh to call on Chanel knowing that Chanel will reliably spout the conspiracy theory du jour, and then Kayleigh can riff a little without actually crediting the nonsense. But she doesn't discredit it, either. She just makes sure it gets into the public sphere.
