Piss Wig’s usefulness has been served in giving them cover to plant all the appellate judges they want and the cake topper, RGB’s seat. I can’t imagine they see him as anything more than what he is, a person who has no business in the job. But they have to hedge their bets. They can’t openly oppose him for several reasons, none greater than the fact that if he does “win” again, they don’t want to be purged with the rest of us.
