They only get their news by watching tv or listening to right wing radio. I was told by a Qanon Idiot person that newspapers are deep state now!

But I loved what they wrote. In my local paper earlier this week someone put out an half page essay saying we have to save our democracy and vote out MF45!

on the shelves. Or even shelves sometimes.

When I visit someone for the first time, I always look at their books. I get fidgety if there are no books.

in our house that did not have a bookshelf in it, unless there was a toilet in it. And even then, it's not unheard of to find a book or two in those rooms either.

I have so many books I have to go though them and throw some out because I have no room to get a new bookshelf. Growing up my childhood home had tons of books.

Funny my first husband was not a reader and it bothered me. But my husband of 31 years always has a book he is reading and his shelf is full of dense books! Any my mother in law is a big reader also. But her oldest daughter has no books in her house.

After all, ancient me obviously was reading that newspaper, albeit a pdf version online. And I cut & pasted the image into a forum where young dissidents got a chance to read it. LOL

By the way, your grandparents want to know when you're gonna get around to calling them.

“In 2016, Republicans looked forward to four years of competent, inspired leadership. The expectation was for straight talk, real transparency, good clean government and a leader who would truly try to lead, a leader who truly try to lead, a leader who promised to “drain the swamp.”

Probably a good idea (the buttering part). It's a pretty good ad overall.

But after that bullshit it gets good.

All votes for Biden and all our down ticket candidates are good (not voting at all is almost as good).

But good god I've been around for over 5 decades and I have not met the conservative they describe. Compassion? Only for the unborn imho.

It's unfortunate that the people who blindly support Trump probably won't read it, but at least some thoughtful people who consider themselves Republicans will.

The values outlined got lost after Eisenhower left office. They started eroding under Nixon, and were swept away almost wholesale under Reagan. That evisceration of good Republican values has only accelerated ever since.

But I do appreciate the thoughtfulness in that ad.

It describes what the Republican party strove to be, long ago.

Idealized, that image, for sure, but aspirational.

Drifted away from those ideals, somewhat. Currently unrecognizable, really.

Perhaps it is time for some Democratic Party ads asking Republicans what happened.
This is what your party stood for long ago, do you recognize it, and if not, what happened? What went wrong?

I appreciate the intent, but brainwashing can't be reasoned with. It must be deflated violently and personally. Otherwise, words are noise to be avoided.

ever be a Repuke?!1"

But in the SHITLER era I've more often told him that Repukes have *ZERO* moral standing on anything, like the things listed in the O.P. - because they are traitors to all of them, including to the country.

******** But we have the opposite Full-Pager in my area, a doctor-owner of a mega-hospital-complex, who spends chunks of his millions to indulge his Wingnuttiness, paying for his own half-hour radio show to spew his crap and frequently also taking out full page ads for the same.

Funny how, since one of his themes is anti-government, he doesn't turn down MediCARE/MediCAID government bucks!1
