Trump Implies At Rally That He's Already Won The Nobel Peace Prize

Donald Trump falsely declared at a North Carolina rally Saturday that he and his supporters are being honored with the Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump was nominated for the prize by a far-right Norwegian politician — but it’s highly unlikely he’ll get the award. Adolf Hitler was nominated for the peace prize in 1939 by a member of the Swedish parliament.

“You love your president, and your president gets honored,” Trump told the crowd in Fayetteville. “I’m not being honored, you’re being honored, with the Nobel Peace Prize for Israel, what we did with Israel.”

Trump was nominated for the 2021 prize by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of Norway’s far-right Progress Party.
