disgusted with Trump are still disgusted and this may turn them off even more and the bankruptcy of hypocrisy with Republicans. They didn't plan to vote before and I see no reason the SC would be their reason to go back to him, when it did not matter this morning.

The descent republicans will never vote for trump. His cult, if you ask them about SCOTUS, they wouldn’t have a clue. So nothing changes there

If anything I think Democrats will be more energized than ever. I'm watching on TV the huge crowd gathering in front of the Supreme Court building, evidence of how much RBG meant to so many people. This has never happened at the death of any other Supreme Court justice.

Sure it is going to motivate the women haters, but there are a LOT more women than there are women haters.

in a way that Biden himself could not. This would be seen as the ultimate insult if McConnell/Trump could shove through a right wing anti-woman justice - violating the 'McConnell rule' that we should 'let the voters decide' in an election year.

The soccer moms and independents were already trending Dem/Biden and this should accellerate that trend, imo.

and pro-choice and respect RBG and what she stood for.

Trump and McConnel's thuggery has shifted some conservative male Dem voters in the Midwest to the GOP. But in politics every action has an equal but opposite reaction. And many liberal/moderate Repub women since then have been moving in our direction - making the 2018 Blue Wave possible - and shifting states like AZ and NC as possible Biden wins this time.

This race was going great. Biden is heavily favored to win. Anything new in the mix is unwelcome. So I don’t know.

I don't see how it can increase Republican turnout? Since they have now got the SC Justice they would have been voting for?

That will no longer be the primary reason many Republicans go to vote.

It's a complicated question but I do not see this helping Republicans in this election.

my hot-take sense is telling me for every additional voter swayed to Trump there's at least one undermotivated voter who'll be pissed off and vote against him.
