(3,589 posts)Last night I saw some MAGAts whining on Twitter that some Chinese "whistleblower" had been banned from Twitter after only a few tweets.
This person was apparently on Tucker's show recently.
I didn't bother to watch the Tucker video they retweeted.

(7,947 posts)Trumpers are like Trump. They grab some bit or word ("Whistleblower" and attach it to a conspiracy theory to try to trick us into thinking, oh, it must be more than just a Alex Jones conspiracy theory!
They have some vague sense that we all know they have no validity, so they pretend. It's like "I voted for Obama, but..." then they come out with something about pizzagate, like we're going to believe they actually aren't all in Trump-- Yeah, right, you voted for Obama. And there's a whistleblower. And someone who used to work for Mitt Romney told you.
You'd think if they had concerns about coming across as valid, they'd actually try to be valid and not lie all the time.

(14,083 posts)From Forbes:
Lack of real scientific evidence has been the big hole in ongoing conspiracy theories that claim that the Covid-19 coronavirus was actually manufactured by China. I covered these conspiracy theories back in March for Forbes, and mentioned how scientists and scientific studies outside of China have been debunking these claims and instead pointing to natural origins of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2).
But these days conspiracy theories, like the Covid-19 coronavirus, dont seem to just go away and disappear, regardless of whether there is a herd mentality or whatever. Now, a person named Li-Meng Yan, who was referred to as a whistleblower by Fox News, is claiming that she has the big e word. No, not eggplant Parmesan, but evidence supporting the China-made-the-virus conspiracy theory. But does she really? Who is she? And what might Steve Bannon have to do with all of this?

She claimed to have done so much work on the virus, she knows more than anyone in the world.
She claims it's not naturally occurring & that the Chinese government released it on purpose.
Twitter deleted her tweets about this, as did Instagram.
I think she's a quack.

the virus is here, loose in the population. we need to restrict it before it kills another hundred thousand people, whether it came from a lab or a layer of thawing Siberian permafrost.
