2. More "let them eat cake" philosophy

If you don't have insurance, a few hours at the ER can bankrupt you. My cousin who had no insurance accidentally shot himself in his belly fat a few years ago when his wife bumped his arm with the door as he was handling a gun. The bullet went completely through. He spent four hours in the ER, getting sewn up and having an MRI to see if any bullet fragments remained: $20,000 including a $2000 ambulance ride (the ambulance got lost on the way to the ER and took the wrong exit onto a different freeway).

Hey, you don't have money for bread, buy more expensive cake. You don't have money to buy insurance, go to the place with prohibitively expensive healthcare.
