I have really cool next door neighbors. One of them rang my doorbell this morning at about 7:30 and told me he’d pulled up my Obama yard sign because it looked like this:



To the person who did this:

Firstly, I hope you don’t have children. I’m no handwriting expert, but I’m thinking you are a grown woman. In fact, you’re probably one of those ‘Christians’ who gets all of her news of FAUX and just can’t stomach the idea of anyone who’s other.

Well, here’s something for you…The police have been here and filed a report. The HOA has been notified, and my sign is uncovered and back in my yard. I’m not afraid of you and your bigotry. Cameras are being installed and WHEN we catch you messing with our sign you will, quite appropriately be charged with the felony this is and smacked with the associated $2,000 fine.

I hear the term used and sadly, it's often from relatives. We live in Florida but still have relatives in Mississippi and Alabama. Not all of them are senior citizens either. Some are in their 40s or younger.

Racism is alive and well. Many people control their language but if they get mad enough or aggravated about some perceived insult or if they listen to FOX all day, they will let it slip out. Wish I could say they are a dying breed. But I would not to telling the truth if I said that.

Compare the way the letters are written. One the one side, there are a few letters in common with some on the other side. They all seem to be written the same way. Notice how the A in "Obama" is round with a little curly tail at the end. Same A used in "Ryan" on the other side. Also the Ms and Ns are very round on both sides. These were both definitely written by the same person, and I think it's pretty obvious that it's a female.

..........but check the minutia of the way the letters were written. Even the "N-word Lover" part. Check out the way the R starts well to the left of the vertical line, and then curves around, goes PAST the vertical line to the left again on its way around, and then crosses back over to make the diagonal line. It's the same on both sides.

And check out the G in "N-word lover" as compared to the G in "Anti-Gay." Notice how the horizontal line comes out and then goes straight down at a 90 degree angle well past the bottom of the rounded part. It's the same.

Again, I don't want this to sound like I'm berating you, but I think if you really look closely, you'll see the similarities. That's what handwriting analysts do.

Ms.goclarkObama was receiving Phone Calls from someone with an accent that wanted "to marry" me.

I was so afraid that they would hurt me. So, I called the Sheriff and they came out.

They tried to do a "call back" to that number but it wouldn't work.
So,I asked what they could do to stop him from calling me. Their "suggestion" was ... if he tells you he wants to kill you call us back.

That sent me to the moon!
I called my Handy Man and he came right over ~ I told him I wanted to install cameras all over the roof - everywhere - $$$'s

The Handy Man asked me if I would recognize him if I saw him -- "No."
Then he said.... I can get you a camera from the store for $7.98 that looks just like the real ones.

Now anyone that walks near the door areas to the house hears a "Click,Click" and sees a red light.

I also blocked his number on my phone -- so far , so good

Or does it actually work? Because ever since I had my car vandalized with Bush stickers and my Kerry sign stolen in '04, and then had my Obama sign stolen TWICE in '08 (the second time was at about 8:00 at night on the night of the election--what possible logic is there in stealing a sign AFTER all the polls had closed?), I've been wanting to set up a camera in order to bust the sign thief. My problem is that it's always been too cost-prohibitive and the logistics have never worked out.

I don't just want to scare them off, I want to take their picture, create a flier on my computer, and mail it out to everyone in my neighborhood (because I'm certain it's someone who lives in this neighborhood).

Police have advised me that if you have a camera and something happens outside your house where the camera is facing, the victim can come after you, the home/camera owner because you failed to offer protection. No, I don't understand it either.

Also, I've looked at lots of security footage (I worked at a security firm for awhile) and it's often impossible to identify somebody unless they've walked right up to the camera in broad daylight.

Go to an industrial supplier, and get a tube of Dykem brand “High spot blue”. Its used by machinists when fitting parts to very close tolerances. Its basically thin vaseline with permanent blue dye mixed in. It never dries, is designed to transfer on contact, and the dye is very VERY stubborn. (as in wait until the skin flakes off stubborn). It should blend well with the background blue of the sign. Be sure to wear rubber gloves when applying it.

Yes, the stuff is harmless, the MSDS says “believed to present very little hazard if swallowed”.

Besides its intended use, back when we still had American tool and die makers, and all telephones were black, it was used to give the foreman “Blue ear syndrome”.

I have signs in my front yard for Obama/Biden. I just moved here 1 year ago. I stay to myself, mind my own business, wave if I see a neighbor on either side, they wave back.

The day I put my signs out, a neighbor on one side told me he was upset, because President Obama is not a good President. I listened, and politely ended the discussion with "my stove is on." Why? Because I could tell within the first 60 seconds that President Obama could walk on water, and this man would criticize him. Low info voter..he was telling me the most ludicrous stories about how President Obama's mother was the elite and owned slaves??????...I just noted he was not worth my time trying to educate.

The neighbors on the other side, have now stopped waving. There are 4 of us living here and each time one of us has gone outside and waved to the neighbors..they turn their head. They are evangelicals.

I don't care, and as I told the other neighbor..I don't care what people think of me. I am voting for President Obama and I also did the last time.

Your lawn sign will (most likely) be made of a plastic or cardboard sheath set on two spindly metal legs. Wearing rubber gloves and using a table knife/ spatula type implement of some sort, collect dog poo and apply it to the space that surrounds the spindly metal legs on either side but is hidden by the sign itself. This is where the yahoo who uprooted my sign and tossed it away grabbed it... the first time. The second time he tried it, thanks to my efforts, he squeezed some icky onto his hands and left the sign only partially removed from its place. I like to imagine his shriek of disgust.
Nobody's messed with my lawn signs since.

I have yard-signs, bumper stickers...that advocate my political beliefs, my support for progressive causes, etc..
When I have displayed them (here in TN), I have had my vehicles vandalized and the stickers removed. The same with yard signs.
The bumper stickers have caused me to be harassed by our local (militarized) police force and ridiculed by acquaintances..not that I don't try to inform them of the fraud being perpetrated by them.
The level of uneducated bigotry in this area is intimidating and when I have "flown my freak colors" it has cost me. I can't afford it.
We are not an accepting, open-minded country, sadly.
I have always taught my children that fear is a wasted emotion, yet here I am...
