So the 'urine' art from 1989 now pops up again a month before election?

One of the coincidences that always seem to hover around Republican party.

For those too young to remember - In the 88 campaign, flagburnings in town squares always 'coincidentally' occurred in towns due to be visited by GHWBush's campaign.

They will have to try harder. I will give them 'credit', the anti-Islam movie worked in their favor. But it won't change the election. Evil fucks.

In the 90's it came in very handy for Rethuglicans... why not go there again?

I remember hearing in '92 that my Dad's little rural town of 600 was up in arms over Mapplethorpe and Serrano (and that was BEFORE widespread internet).

How did they do it? Entirely through the churches. A couple of church women received info through their church and spread it all around. Artist bashing was in the air --like the witch hunts of the 1700's...

When I heard that I knew we were in for a very bad ride.

Is it the lack of protests and rioting that we're supposed to be noticing?

BTW - Have the rules for General Discussion been changed? Are personal observations skeptical of 'coincidence' no longer allowed?
