Unlike actual rich guy Bloomberg who spent hundreds of millions of his own money, TV fake rich guy bragged about how rich he was and then immediately started panhandling his poor suckers for handouts.

He is not rich
He is massively in debt
He doesn’t have any money to spend
Even if he did, he’s a notorious cheapskate who stiffs people and doesn’t pay bills.

He won’t part with one thin dime of his own money for that his campaign.

Not. One. Dime.

I have serious doubts that this guy is a billionaire, and IF he is it's only because of the value of properties he owns. He would need to sell off a couple of golf resorts to come up with $100 million.

With an enormous debt load!
The financial review of the TO, by Moody's (legally required to assess credit worthiness of privately held companies) concluded properties were 20%+ overvalued, other divisions were insolvent, and the debt load (they have access to loan values from all North American banks) was 40%+ higher than stated in public releases.
THEN we learned of the $800 million they owe Deutsche Bank, and the $300 million to the state bank of China.
And, junior ADMITTED getting funding from Russian sources.
Credible estimates are a net worth of $780 million tops.
He inherited $390 million nearly 30 years ago, not including the "loans" from daddy for 8 years in the 70s.
Suggests a 1.8% annualized return over a time in which major US indices averaged 9.56%.
Financial genius, my rear!

If you have assets of $6 billion and debts of $8 billion, what is your net worth?

Wharton school answer: if you can get away with stiffing people to whom you owe money, it could be any amount up to $6 billion.

Law school answer: if your creditor is Vladimir Putin, you ain't worth a plugged kopek, and you had better have enough cash stashed away for a one way trip to Pitcairn Island after having visited a skillful and very discreet plastic surgeon.

The liabilities section is the flip side.

I believe the only way this con man can come up with $100M is to 1) Fleece the American public and steal more money either from the mysterious inaugural fund, or, 2) Call his ex buddies at Deutchebank to launder it into his account, or 3) Trade away American interests (secrets) and go to his buddy Vlad Putin.

No way does the fool have $100M sitting around. His finances are as shakey as his marriage.

35. Trump Weighs Putting Up to $100 Million of His Cash Into Race
Tue Sep 8, 2020, 10:50 AM
Sep 2020
The billionaire president has talked about the idea with multiple people, though he hasn’t yet committed to any self-funding, according to people briefed on internal deliberations. Though Trump personally contributed $66 million to his 2016 campaign, it would be unprecedented for an incumbent president to put his own money toward winning a second term.

Trump has sought advice about whether he should self-fund as he scrutinizes heavy spending by his team earlier this year that failed to push him ahead of the former vice president in the polls. In addition, Biden’s campaign and associated Democratic entities have recently raised more than Trump and his allies.

Trump’s re-election effort, including the Republican National Committee, has spent more than $800 million so far, while Biden and the Democratic National Committee spent about $414 million through July, according to financial reports.

But Biden and the DNC raised $365 million in August, shattering a previous record one-month record of $193 million set by Barack Obama in 2008. Biden had $294 million in cash on hand at the end of July, about $6 million less than Trump’s re-election effort.
