It is being widely reported that the Trump-campaign has been scaling back on TV-ads. For example in Arizona, the Trump-campaign isn't running any ads at all.

This could have two reasons:
1. They are broke.
2. They are hoarding their cash in order to spend it with one MASSIVE ad-campaign right before the election.
Here's why I think its No. 2: We have seen this campaign-strategy before.
In the 2008 republican primary, Rudy Giuliani used this strategy. You know, the Has-Been who desperately clings to Trump for political relevance. It's not unbelievable to think that Rudy Giuliani proposed this strategy to Trump.
"The biggest presidential ad-campaign ever! It could be yours! The ad-campaign to end all ad-campaigns!"
Btw, did it work for Giuliani in 2008?
No.
Holding off for so long cost him precious campaign-momentum and media-presence.
By the time his campaign-onslaught started, most primary-voters had already made up their mind. And not in his favor.
I think it would be super-funny if Rudy Giuliani's campaign-advice would ultimately cost Trump the 2020 election.

Of course it's his, people gave it to him, right?

But I do hear a lot of doom and gloom from various campaigns and candidates. I hang in there.
I figure Trump is selling shit again. It's what he does.

(1,241 posts)I believe left over campaign cash belongs to the candidate. Trump wants a nice big check as a going away present (or maybe to cover his legal bills).

If he thinks his company will have everything frozen from criminal charges when he's ousted maybe he has devised a way to keep or shield it from being taken? He does have moles feeding him information within the DOJ.

He doesn't need campaign funds. He gets all the free media he needs from the M$M.
Also, it is very probable that he is laundering Russian money thru the RNC.

$322,981,456.80 how MUCH trump campaign has spent year to date to behind 10 points is a great investment right?

Now it is 800%, for one hour.

Giuliani didn't lose because of that strategy, he lost because no one wanted him. Just as when he tried for a 3rd term in NYC right after 9/11 and NYers said NO.

And, they may be in debt to "the wrong people": people who don't understand forgiveness of debts, even under a ruling of bankruptcy status. People who are knowledgeable about the terminal velocity of an object of fifth-floor defenestration. People knowledgeable about nerve agents in tea or in diet Coke. People knowledgeable about the administration of polonium.

(3,922 posts)An article in today's Times by Eric Lipton details some $58.6 million that has been spent by the GOP on the many, many lawsuits that the IPOTUS is continually involved in.
That's ongoing - and that's a lot of cash. Has to leave a mark, a red one, on the books eventually.
I have long wondered about this and Mr. Lipton's reporting shines a light on how the GOP uses campaign funding to pay for the mountains of legal bills the fraud incurs.
Besides the trump crime family's immediate members, the GOP has paid legal fees for Hope Hicks (the president's fantasy girl), the infamous Cory Lewandowski, former bodyguard/valet Keith Schiller, and noted professional liar and suck-up Boris Epshteyn.
This is what the GOP does now that it has surrendered all vestiges of it's legitimacy (if it ever had any) in blind support of a two-bit con, criminal, and wannabe dictator.
