(26,117 posts)I watched the clown debate last night (the first one I've watched), and I expected him to be way more radical and even entertaining in his wackiness, but he was pretty much just the same-old shit as the others.
Looks like I missed out on the highest entertainment value, since Bachman dropped out.

(50,454 posts)Paul is a non-issue, imo, and I don't even bother responding in threads about him anymore although, I must admit, I am sometimes tempted to post the YouTube version of "He's dead, Jim" from Star Trek but, so far, I have resisted, lol.

(1,362 posts)I find the whole idea that psychopaths/repukes represent a side of something or offer different opinions on issues to be a false paradigm. Repukes offer nothing but self-serving lies regardless of the situation.

(32,139 posts)Otherwise, the other candidates and the media would assiduously avoid any mention at all of the malignant consequences of our empire and our horrendous drug policies.
However frustrating and inconvenient some find him, he is one more tool to force all of the candidates, including ours, to acknowledge these issues.

(62,276 posts)For what it's worth, I don't think the Republican base is very much happy when he goes on those discussion paths, and you even see him mocked and ridiculed for it.

(17,656 posts)Because that is when the Virginia GOP primary is going to be held.
And Paul and Romney are the only ones on the Virginia ballot for the GOP.
Everyone else failed to make it on to the ballot because they didn't submit the minimum number of registered voters required to get on that ballot.
I think the GOP is referring to that day as their "Super Tuesday" primary day.
More like "Super Snoozeday", if you ask me.
Today it was reported that some billionaire gave Gingrich $5 million dollars so his campaign can continue.
Must have been through one of the Super Pacs floating around because that is way over the $2000 dollar limit.

(62,276 posts)If Romney blows up after the rest drop out and Paul is steadily gaining delegates it could be interesting.

(28,811 posts)i'm bored shitless with the lot of them. but i feel a civic responsibility to stay up to date so i can continue to raise the consciousness of others who may just listen to cable news or npr and may still believe that there's a republican on the planet who has the best interests of this country in mind.
