he usually bases his work on some famous artist's painting, in this case a painting by George Edmund Butler, A roadside cemetery near Neuve Eglise ...
he reveals the inspiration in text alongside the border of the cartoon...

i usually look for the reference and find the painting online,
https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:George_Edmund_Butler_-_A_roadside_cemetery_near_Neuve_Eglise.jpeg

i also like how he portrays fatnixon's hair

My father nearly lost his toes to severe frostbite suffered in The Bulge. Soaking wet feet, tromping through knee deep snow for miles, numb to pain from the cold.

Nightmare.

I wonder what Mauldin would have done with the current situation.....

or is this a recent development? They look like the "chunky heels" which replaced high heels back in the 1970s, and there is even an arch under the

Yesterday on Stephanie Miller, Chris and Travis were talking about "kitten heels" with video of #45's feet. I don't think I heard anyone else mention this before.

There has been talk of shoe lifts for quite a while, but not "kitten heels" or any film highlighting the heels of his shoes. At least I have not seen or heard of any. (you can bet the Stephanie crowd would have been on it right away if there were film)

I have been noticing that early on only a couple of the artists were drawing tiny hands, but now it seems the majority of them are - some to extreme cariacature levels.

Dallas PD Officer Joseph Smith confronted him and actually saw his credentials. Problems were Smith smelled gunpowder and Secret Service reported no agents were posted there.

"After the assassination, several witnesses stated they had seen or
encountered Secret Service agents behind the stockade fence
situated on the grassy knoll area and in the Texas School Book Depository."
