He was free to criticize Trump when the latter was just running for the Republican nomination, but he'll never openly repudiate a Republican president, because his brother probably still hopes to run in 2024 (and, if not, I'm sure a nephew will at some time in the future), and he doesn't want his family to have burned their bridges with their longtime party.

If Ted Cruz had a spine, he would too. Screw his boss (Mitch). Mitch is in trouble in KY, so he might not be Ted's boss much longer.
