(102,297 posts)I was a bit young to appreciate it all, but I do remember the staff reaching out to make sure my Mom took me to see exhibits that kids tended to like. I seem to remember them giving out little Truman Presidential seal trinkets of some kind--a big deal for little kids.
My experience with several Presidential libraries that I have visited as an adult, is that the staff really LIVE for inquiries--especially from the general public.

(32,982 posts)From Ramblin-_Daves source...Snip-President Harry Truman shakes hands with an Army Nurse Lieutenant at a White House Garden Party for veterans on May 23, 1946.
I know that recent& current US military forces will rain hell on those who go after medics. I do understand the things in combat can go bad very very quickly. A wounded nurse strikes me as a very big deal

(32,017 posts)One of their librarians would be positively thrilled to do a little research and identify that nurse for you.
A relative, perhaps?
