The obtuse and weird regional bigotry and sometimes ignorance on DU has always gobsmacked me.

If they want to live longer, better lives in the red states, they can start working for it, voting for it, or both.

(13,431 posts)3. This is due to suppressing data and suppressing testing.
More testing would find more cases that dont result in deaths, thus lowering the death rate. If testing is limited to those showing symptoms or those being hospitalized, the death rate will be higher.
