There should be no debate on this one. Kyle Rittenhouse is a murderer and he should be treated like one!

(21,177 posts)I dont get why they are cheering him in. if it was a 17 year old black male theyd also be ok?
These MF45 supporters are fricking insane to think it is acceptable.

(3,660 posts)Because the first victim, Rosenbaum, allegedly threw a plastic bag at him. So of course that is grounds to open fire

(20,002 posts)the morons (Scott Walker??? Glenn Grothman???) in the WI government who passed and signed the "Open Carry" laws that allow lunatics to openly carry weapons of war for no reason down a city street through an emotionally charged, volatile protest. If not for those enabling fools the two victims would very likely be alive today.

(3,321 posts)Today, I overheard two co-workers talking about this and the protests in general (they call them riots and looting - not protests). Protests do not exist, not for them. Kyle Rittenhouse's name is spoken with reverence and adoration. They would do exactly the same thing.
I can tell you that these co-workers are deeply racist, and have no idea that they are, and never will. They honestly believe they are patriots and are on the side of law and order.
I have always known that I am a bit naive. Until today, I had no idea what the magnitude of my naivete was.
I have two questions:
1. How the fuck did we end up here?
2. What the fuck can we do to survive this?
My co-workers do not live on the same planet, same society as I do. Our realities do not overlap.

(2,606 posts)1. The right peddling hatred and fear because all their ideas suck and only help the wealthy.
2. Good intentions of the greatest generation spoiling the boomers (who were born on 3rd and thought they hit a triple as the saying goes) and the scorched earth greed of every generation since then.
I wish I could see some good way out, but most of the country can't even admit we have some problems.

(3,321 posts)Never once did I think I hit a triple (if I hit a single, I feel very lucky - it's rare).
I fear we may not recover from this. I want to help everyone. I will not give up trying.

(2,606 posts)I was born in 1963, but can't be a boomer because my dad was born in 1938. So there is some over lap.
I'd never want to categorically blame everyone in any particular grouping, but I believe there has been a tendency to try to give more to each subsequent generation. Sadly it has been mostly material things with no decent value system. And of course that is only based on my limited observations.
But my wife's cousins are a great example. Her aunt is extremely liberal (had a peace sign in base housing during the Vietnam War, while her husband was stationed in Greenland with the USAF. He was called into his commander's office and told to tell her to take it down. He said he had no control over her). Her daughters had everything they wanted and are raging Republicans.

(3,660 posts)You know because someone threw a plastic bag at him, so he opened fire to defend himself. Disgusting, vile, pieces of shit. All of em.

(3,660 posts)Both wannabe cops who thought because of their "white privilege" they could just take the law into their own hands and sadly I fear just like Zimmerman, Rittenhouse will escape true justice. But I hope that I am wrong.

(81,440 posts)Kyle Rittenhouse IS a murderer.
He shot and injured one, and shot and killed another two. That sounds like a double-murder to me. That's what it'd be called if police were called to the scene of two deaths that are not from suicide or by natural causes.

(4,400 posts)...Molotov cocktail at him and he charged the kid and that there are videos that prove that ALL OVER the internet and YouTube. This same guy also claimed, that the 1st man killed was a pedophile and was charged with 2 sexual assaults. The skateboard guy attacked this poor kid, and the 3rd guy had a gun.
This loud-mouthed idiot was saying all this to another guy, who obviously knew him but looked uncomfortable, as I was paying for my prescriptions.
WTF are we to do about all the lies, misinformation, doctored videos and MORONS who slurp this shit up?
