I am no fan of his, but Lieberman has had a solid record as a democrat on social issues. He is no closet republican. His record on military and war issues is troubling, but no politician is perfect like none of us are perfect.

But. Lieberman has been a consistently solid democrat on social issues. On military and national security issues, Lieberman has been conservative. The question that I have for you is, does a person has to vote 100% for what you want to be worthy of your support?

And he would caucus with the Republicans if they had enough to takeover.

So he is not worthy of my support thank you very much.

8. He is retiring so there will be no need. It is Linda McMahon (R) vs Chris Murphy (D) for the seat.

I actually think she might be worse then old Jomentum. I really don't want her as my next Senator, living in CT.

Hey, I voted against Lieberman last time. My Republican parents voted FOR him. He got too many crossover votes.

replacement. You're right, I fear, she would be tons worse than Joe.

I think my only consolation in the 2000 election coup, was that I would have to listen to that whiny pos every day!

At least he knows when he's no longer wanted. Chances are he would have been defeated in a primary anyway.

Many Democrats wanted Lieberman to be stripped of his chairmanship of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs due to his support for John McCain which went against the party's wishes.[50] Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell reached out to Lieberman, asking him to caucus with the Republicans.[51] Ultimately, the Senate Democratic Caucus voted 42 to 13 to allow Lieberman to keep chairmanship (although he did lose his membership for the Environment and Public Works Committee). Subsequently, Lieberman announced that he will continue to caucus with the Democrats.[6] Lieberman credited President-elect Barack Obama for helping him keep his chairmanship. Obama had privately urged Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid not to remove Lieberman from his position. Reid stated that Lieberman's criticism of Obama during the election angered him, but that "if you look at the problems we face as a nation, is this a time we walk out of here saying, 'Boy did we get even'?" Senator Tom Carper of Delaware also credited the Democrats' decision on Lieberman to Obama's support, stating that "If Barack can move on, so can we."

Lieberman is a vindictive man and if Dems had punished him he would have punished us by helping the GOP in the Senate by supporting fillibusters, etc. In politics you sometimes have to swallow hard to make sure you get things done.

He has a chairmanship to keep him in the fold so he wouldn't caucus with the GOP.
