8. The 10 Truest Things Harry Truman Said About Republicans
Sun Sep 23, 2012, 12:36 AM
Sep 2012

#1. “The Republicans believe in the minimum wage — the more the minimum, the better.”

#2. “Richard Nixon is a no good, lying bastard. He can lie out of both sides of his mouth at the same time, and if he ever caught himself telling the truth, he’d lie just to keep his hand in.”

#3. “A bureaucrat is a Democrat who holds some office that a Republican wants.”

#4. “Republicans don’t like people who talk about depressions. You can hardly blame them for that. You remember the old saying: Don’t talk about rope in the house where somebody has been hanged.”

#5. “It's an old political trick: "If you can't convince 'em, confuse 'em." But this time it won't work.”

#6. “A leader in the Democratic Party is a boss, in the Republican Party he is a leader.”

#7. "Carry the battle to them, don't let them bring it to you. Put them on the defensive and don't ever apologize for anything."

#8. "When a fellow tells me he's bipartisan, I know he's going to vote against me."

#9. "Republicans approve of the American farmer, but they are willing to help him go broke. They stand four-square for the American home--but not for housing. They are strong for labor--but they are stronger for restricting labor's rights. They favor minimum wage--the smaller the minimum wage the better. They endorse educational opportunity for all--but they won't spend money for teachers or for schools. They think modern medical care and hospitals are fine--for people who can afford them. They consider electrical power a great blessing--but only when the private power companies get their rake-off. They think American standard of living is a fine thing--so long as it doesn't spread to all the people. And they admire the Government of the United States so much that they would like to buy it."

#10. “The Republicans … will try to make people believe that everything the Government has done for the country is socialism. They will go to the people and say: "Did you see that social security check you received the other day—you thought that was good for you, didn't you? That's just too bad! That's nothing in the world but socialism. Did you see that new flood control dam the Government is building over there for the protection of your property? Sorry—that's awful socialism! That new hospital that they are building is socialism. Price supports, more socialism for the farmers! Minimum wage laws? Socialism for labor! Socialism is bad for you, my friend. Everybody knows that. And here you are, with your new car, and your home, and better opportunities for the kids, and a television set—you are just surrounded by socialism! Now the Republicans say, ‘That's a terrible thing, my friend, and the only way out of this sinkhole of socialism is to vote for the Republican ticket.’"

Just remember that Mitt Romney liked the dog that he tied to the roof! What is he going to do to the 47% that he doesn't like?

She was a fourteen year old girl forced into marriage with a degenerate monarch, who was murdered for her association with him and for being a foreigner. The "cake" quote was never uttered by her, but rather inserted into her mouth in 1931, by Erich Kästner - its original source seems to have been Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Confessions, who attributes it to a "great princess" (not Antionette, as she was nine years olf when he wrote it.)

So... there you go. A little girl, married to a foreign pedophile by arrangement, and murdered by a mob. She should honestly be a tragic figure, not a target of spite and ridicule.

She certainly doesn't deserve to be compared to Ann Romney!

Robespierre tried to commit suicide by blowing his own head off but only succeeded in shattering his own jaw and the next day he was sent to the guillotine himself.

I get the feeling that he really didn't want to go.

Not after sending so many others there just for being a Nobel.

Try paying into a payroll tax system and towards that thing that should have been left in a lock box, Social Security...

Try depending the "choices" to invest your life savings after they got flushed... Try getting ahead through an employer's 401k plan, only to have the bottom fall out before you can retire to those "golden years" ...

See if you don't mind being labeled as someone who looks for a "hand out", even after contributing to a regressive tax every day of your life.

See if if it works for you to have the money you've budgeted to raise a family, put away some supplementation in retirement... b u t ...... y o u .... C A N N O T retire on it... You know why? Because like so many Americans you've never met, you no longer have a choice to retire unless you keep working... for a lot longer....

And, what about your investments? A huge chunk of it went to bail out the darlings of Wall Street.... you know... the ones who lobbied to change the level playing field you live in. They are the ones that enabled your family to pay less than 14% on JUST the investments in your hubby's portfolio. Talk about getting a hand out!

And, I really didn't talk much about the people who didn't pay an "income tax", but got labeled by your fool husband as never paying a DAMN thing. That's the regressive tax that's paid life-long that NitMit never mentions about the 47%

GIRL... it's got to get a little harder for prissy elites like you to understand.....

Don't worry though... she's going to find out what hard is. Like unable to walk, maybe unable to speak, 24 hour lightning pain, walkers, wheelchairs, being cleaned of faeces and urine by others, maybe being bed ridden, possible loss of mental faculties, and all for the rest of her life. There's no getting better, only remission with careful stress reduction plus a couple of shots in her hip every week.

Why is Mitt doing this? The more stress, the more likelihood of relapse.

I wouldn't wish that on anyone... I know that is a different subject. And, if for any reason MS is ever wiped out, I'd wish it for her first. That's because she had more of a bullly pulpit for being spokesperson for the disease.

I'd at least wish that she'd want everyone to have the same level of health care in particular because of that disease.

I was more interested in making a statement in general to comments about hurt. At least if they understand all the ramifications of their statements they may see that she is human no matter what stupid statement she or her husband make.

Also, I want to lay a little more blame on Mitt. Maybe it's a statement on his lack of compassion.

Certainly, I understand your point and I don't place any judgement on you at all.
