I've long been skeptical of him, thinking that he and his wife were basically playing both sides, but this clip has me thinking that he's legit.

(53,978 posts)And she didn't renounce trump, just said she's leaving for family reasons.
Seems her activities contributed to mightily to the family problems.

(11,258 posts)It would be one thing if he and his wife had policy differences, but this is more basic and fundamental. I honestly have no answer.

(5,008 posts)How could he stay with a woman that could work for a racist that probably thinks he should go back where he came from?

In the late 1990s, Conway saw then-Kellyanne Fitzpatrick on the cover of a society magazine. He had known of her from her television appearances, and called Ann Coulter for an introduction.[10] George and Kellyanne married in 2001, and she took his last name.[35] They have four children[35] and live in Washington, D.C. Prior to Trump's presidency, the family lived in Alpine, New Jersey.[35]

(4,611 posts)On the one hand, his feelings are clearly genuine.
On the other, it seems it was his personal family experience with Trump-style racism that convinced him Trump was genuinely evil and not just a useful buffoon whose antics could be overlooked and accomodated as long as the GOP kept power.
Conservatives only seem to switch from "Suck it up buttercup!" to "This is wrong!" when they are personally affected.

(7,447 posts)I think he loves Kellyanne...and let's be honest, he's not an attractive dude and, for him, she is an attractive woman...there's love and lust and when you are older wondering if you will ever find anyone again and yeah I get why he stays while also feeling this strongly about Trump.
I think the better question is, if she knows he feels this way, if she truly loves him, why does she continue such an active role (until now) in the the Trump campaign? It took her daughter and probably her husband threatening to break away to make her take a break from him.
The most fascinating thing to me about Trump is the just intense loyalty he gets from people when he clearly is loyal to no one. So intense that they risk careers, legal trouble, and their own families. I mean I thought Obama was the bee knees but I'd not have risked any of those things for him.

(56,829 posts)that's something they have in common. From what I've read about George, he's a smart guy, but not the most social/socialable in person. So, it could have been opposite personalities attracting with the introverted George and the extrovert Kellyanne.
(my first wife was the most outgoing person I've ever met, while I'm pretty introverted in person - so those things can happen)
I initially thought they were a smart couple and playing both sides - if Trump came out on top in 2020, George would move back into the Trump WH and say he was a spy for Trump or similar; while if Trump went down in flames, Kellyanne would do similar and say she was working against Trump from the inside.
But, I think I was wrong. I think George really sincerely hates Trump. Rick Wilson is another one that really hates Trump.

(8,818 posts)Kellyanne was in her Washington house while George was living with the kids in NJ - 15 yr old twins (Claudia and her brother George) and two younger tweens . Claudia recently tweeted her mother had her arrested. Claudia would like to get a job with AOC. I followed her Twitter for about a week.

(8,963 posts)When I was growing up in NW Indiana, city of Hammond, I lived in a community where we were the 1st Hispanic family to move into the neighborhood. I was around 4 years old.
I was living on Oak Ave. I lived on Catalpa Ave. about 1 mile east of Oak Ave.
I was around 12 years old at the time, while I was riding my bike past a neighbor who was sitting on his porch, he yells "Why don't you go back where you came from?"
I stopped my bike and like the smart a$$ 5th grader that I am, I asked "Where? Back to Catalpa?"
He just waived his hand and went back into his house.
I'll never forget how we were treated when we first moved in.
By the time we moved out when I was 18 years old, 4 more Hispanic families had moved in, on our block and 1 more, one block up the street.
By then a Mexican Restaurant (El Taco Real) opened up across the street from the library.
