I just couldn't stomach it. Everything that guy was saying was the exact OPPOSITE of reality. I'm just going to have to tune out politics and do something else for the next four days. Except here on Democratic Underground, of course. And Thom Hartmann's radio show for three hours every day.

it’s kind of pissing me off that there are about 10 times as many threads and 20 times the responses here on the Republican convention than there were for the Democratic one last week.

I don’t know what’s wrong with people. Either they secretly love watching the Trumpers, or they love hate watching. Neither is productive.

I wouldn’t give this a minute’s look: don’t want to give them the pleasure, and I don’t need to know what they’re saying: it’s all lies or twisted anyway. I’ll read the lowlights in the paper tomorrow.

Why can’t we stay focused on the positives of our own party, and brainstorm on strategies for winning the future rather than focusing on the Republicans and their pathetic dog and pony show?

9. Okay, you know when I watched

the Democratic Convention, I spent very little time on the computer. I didn't want to miss anything. Even when my daughter called, we cut it short, so we could get back to the convention. Following threads on DU or posts on Facebook was too distracting.

With this convention, I am hitting fast-forward a lot and spending more time online. That said, I honestly don't think I can take three more nights of this. Best to just get the clips and highlights later from the people are paid to endure this crap.

Guilfoyle and couldn’t take it anymore. The supersaturated diatribe of fear-mongering, outright lies, and astounding propaganda along with the continual testimonials about how DJT is the greatest human to ever walk the Earth is unlike anything I have ever seen.

The most depressing thing is that there are a significant number of people out there that believe all of it.

I tend to believe we are really fucked not because of Trump, but because a significant number of U.S. citizens wholehearted and without shame embrace ignorance and wear it like a badge of honor. These people far outlast administrations and inculcate their children with the same values to carry forward their flag of stupidity long after their death. It’s generational ignorance.

You're right, they are trying to sell their cult of vision of this country that is the EXACT opposite of reality, and the sick thing is the cult members will eat it all up with a spoon. They will see what they are told to see, because at this point, they have become completely brainwashed.

15. I was watching something else and started

channel-surfing on mute during a commercial break. When I came to the first station carrying the RNC Convention I made the mistake of pausing for a moment and un-muting just to check it out. Kimberly Guilfoyle was on. She was SCREAMING so loud I thought she was trying to reach the planet Jupiter. And more teeth than a Tyrannosaurus. She also seemed totally high. Her performance was very disturbing. But that's par for the Trump/Republican course.
