to the VA hospital in Temple when I was going in for my treatment. However Covid has fixed that. I don't go so much and they are not taking books or magazines. I had people who were bringing them to me to take with us. I can't take them to assisted living homes: covid, and also not to the VA clinic in Austin. And I've heard that a lot of places won't be taking them anymore even after Covid. A lot of thrift shops keep them for so long and then they put them in the dumpster.
I'm thinking about giving them to the used book store up the street.
Anyone with any ideas????
Seriously need help.

(7,397 posts)I may just start putting them out by the street with a "free" sign and see if anyone wants them. The thrift stores around here are not really interested for the most part.

Except for readers of bodice rippers and gun magazines, nobody reads except on RW websites, so that negates the need for any kind of library.

(25,853 posts)That's not how the virus is spread. You could try contacting nursing homes or independent/assisted living places.
My local library is doing curbside books only, which is fine, but they are taking a full week to check in returned books, which is ludicrous.
