Noonan escalates against Team Romney-"I Was Being Polite. I Really Meant "Rolling Calamity"

It is true that a good debate, especially a good first one, can invigorate a candidate and lead to increased confidence, which can prompt good decisions and sensible statements. There is more than a month between the first debate and the voting: That's enough time for a healthy spiral to begin.

But: The Romney campaign has to get turned around. This week I called it incompetent, but only because I was being polite. I really meant "rolling calamity."

A lot of people weighed in, in I suppose expected ways: "Glad you said this," "Mad you said this." But, some surprises. No one that I know of defended the campaign or argued "you're missing some of its quiet excellence."

The entire GOP is a Rolling Calamity (including Noonan), not just Mittens.

"because the president tends to, how shall I say it, to say things that aren't true".

In an interview aired this morning with George Stephanopoulos, the host told Mitt Romney that, despite his claims to the contrary, the Obama administration never showed sympathy for attackers in Egypt and Libya. How did the candidate explain the discrepancy? He didn't -- Romney dodged the question and let the lie stand.

Towards the end of the interview, however, Romney looked ahead to the upcoming debates and said he'll have a challenge to deal with: "he president tends to, how shall I say it, to say things that aren't true."

So Romney's setting it up that PBO lies and romney the freaking little Moocher always tells the truth.

mitt will come on to Pres Obama like Scott Brown on steroids.

Btw, Rich Lazio got beaten in a debate with Hillary many Moons ago, in NY, because he came on to her like a knuckle dragging cave man.
