Because they will come back to their homes and spread it to others. Maybe me. Maybe you.

But our wishes are just that. I believe we vastly overestimate the power of our wishes. Especially those who aren't even close to our sphere of influence.

We're looking at 17,000 cases and 892 deaths. And that's just of the people who attend. Who knows how many will get it second hand. God help us.

your positing assumes.

Actual Covid-19 case count could be 6 to 24 times higher than official estimates, CDC study shows

https://www.statnews.com/2020/07/21/cdc-study-actual-covid-19-cases/

The true number of coronavirus cases in the U.S. could be anywhere from six to 24 times higher than the confirmed number of cases, depending on location, according to a large federal study that relied on data from 10 U.S. cities and states.

The vast majority of Americans, however, are still vulnerable to Covid-19.

The study, published Tuesday in JAMA Internal Medicine, relied on serological tests — blood screens that search for antibodies to the virus and that determine whether someone was previously infected. They are different from diagnostic tests, which only detect people who currently have the virus, called SARS-CoV-2.

snip

taking the lowest number (6X)

puts the lethality rate at 0.53% (roughly 10 times LESS than what you are claiming)

taking the highest number (24X)

puts the lethality rate at 0.13% (roughly 40 times less than what your are claiming)

The vast, vast majority of all doctors have a consensus that the actual lethality rate is 1% or less in the US. I see this discussed daily on the telly. Remember that is the overall lethality rate for all age cohorts, which brings me to........

Number two, the lethality rate is far, far lower for the lower age groups. The majority of those attending will not be in the age groups that account for the vast bulk of COVID-19 deaths (55yo and up, and especially 65yo and up).

The average age in 2018 was 49 (and trending down) and I assume this year will be even younger, as the oldest ones will be far more likely to not attend (250,000 attending is half of the 500,000 who came in 2018)

Even if it kills every single one, it's not enough to influence the election.

Ultimately the August sturgis rally won't affect the the November election.

The virus doesn't care who it's victim votes for.

Thinking about it. Covid 19 will hurt us more than it hurts Republicans. This is because Democratic strongholds are also the most population dense parts of the US.

If a Biker goes back to his home in Bumford West Virginia, he's only putting at risk a handful of people. But if that same Biker goes back to New York City and takes the subway...well you can see the difference. But how many bikers live in dense cities?

Really. Let's just look forward to the day when we have this cured.

True and it's the red neck bikers who don't protect them selfs from the virus who will spread it to their like minded friends and family. I don't know about your neck of the woods but down here in Fla all of my dem friends follow the covid rules. Most of my conservative friends do not. So without the minimum of masks, hand washing, social distancing and quarantine to me it seems these guys have a higher chance of getting sick and spreading it to their fellow conservatives. The virus is opportunistic and goes where it is invited.

Nobody is wearing masks, I saw only 4 in about a half hour with masks on. This is one big petri dish, the only good side is, it is doubtful they will see 250,000 people. There was always a large contingent of Canadians that would attend and they won't be there. Not sure how many people are there but they said attendance is down quite a bit.

so therefore they will never blame failures of national leadership, but instead themselves.

Right-wing media has also brainwashed them into believing all government is evil.

Right-wing media has also brainwashed them into many false believes about COVID-19.

Right-wing media has also brainwashed them into believing total personal freedom means they don't have to follow any of society's rules or norms.

We are now living in a state of sugar-coated anarchy wrapped in a flag.

That's precisely what the right-wing wants.....

It's not them I care about.

I care about any others they may drag into the nightmare: unwitting victims they infect and all the health care workers worn out by having to deal with the consequences of their irresponsible behavior when they should be taking care of responsible citizens.
