So I'm doing my monthly shopping at Costco today and I noticed that they put out a pallet of latex gloves, which I always grab a box of when available. As I'm doing so, I struck up a conversation with a woman who is hesitating on buying them and I offer that it doesn't hurt to have extra protection. Anyway, we chatted about COVID-19 and she brought up that she hadn't seen her grandmother, who's in an assisted living facility, in months. However, as I recount it, she doesn't mind because Governor DeathSentence locked down Florida's senior centers first thing when it looked like the state was going to go south with the virus.
And then later I got to thinking.
For the moron supporters of the 45th Shitbag Battalion, DeathSentence was and is protecting our most vulnerable citizens, which makes him a wise and benevolent leader.
Except that Florida derives a good chunk of revenue from these facilities and the industry ranks right up there with agriculture and aerospace as one of the state's biggest cash cows. If they weren't worth money, I guarantee he would figuratively put them on an ice floe and wave buh-bye to them as they sailed off into the sunset. If you have any doubt of how the Republicants feel about seniors in the state just take a walk back a couple of years ago and read about horror stories that came out of Hurricane Irma (the Bald Headed Fuck, Scott, was governor at the time). Seniors and the senior industry is and always will be a giant cash grab here and a dead senior is worth exactly fuck all to these despicable humans.
But that's not the thought that nauseated me the most. The woman that I spoke said she hadn't seen nor spoke to her nana in months so who's to say that DeathSentence hasn't finagled the reporting system to keep seniors off of the death count. Would you put it past these motherfuckers?
I wouldn't.

(32,626 posts)that's the worst part. People rail against 'conspiracy' theories, but as far as I can tell that's all there is. Truth is a rare commodity, even when you put in the work. I don't believe any Republican-run state government official documents. I use this site for covid cases https://coronavirus.1point3acres.com/en
and when you look at the death rates between red and blue states, it's astounding. Red states must have the best medical facilities in the world. Even West Virginia. On the other hand New York, and Massachusetts suck at saving lives. Who knew?
