Wait that never happened. No one had a problem with businesses requiring patrons wear certain things.
There are also places that won't let you in with short paints and restaurants that require men wear a jacket.
But wearing masks is the idiotic hill they choose to die on.

(1,474 posts)I grew up in the country, where shirts are optional during the summer months. For boys and girls. Life was pretty casual back then.
But we didn't have political meltdowns and rant about minorities. We just said "Aw mom" and went out and got a shirt

(57,073 posts)Is it because our face is so individualistic? Sort of defines who we are?
(If so, perhaps a little introspection would be in order, as those I've seen without masks at grocery & hardware stores could be said to perform a public service by covering their mugs. )
I can't figure it out, either.

(5,591 posts)We just didnt have cell phone videos and social media as an outlet to magnify the assholes constantly. They didnt have the platform or the media to enable them.
As much as I seriously and gratefully rely on social media to connect to the world and most importantly with my dearly cherished family and watching distant grandchildren on an almost daily basis 💕, it has also, in America most certainly, spawned generations of look at me ignorant behavior and despicable character development (or total lack thereof).
Double edged sword.
Toss in a complete breakdown of personal accountability and you have...this chaotic mess of a mean self-serving society getting all the attention.
