(21,849 posts)That was a problem in the recent NY primary. A judge just ordered earlier this week that ballots without postmarks be counted.

(21,768 posts)Folks can check their daily mail and see how many pieces actually bear a postmark. Most do not.

(10,303 posts)North Carolina will count an absentee ballot received up to three days after the election day, as long as the ballot envelope is postmarked for election day or earlier.
Given the shenanigans that DJT is pulling with the USPS maybe the states will have to push that rule out by a few more days.

(4,986 posts)At some point, the states have to certify their results, so how long do they wait before all possible ballots mailed on 11/3 are theoretically in. It seems mail "delay" would still be a factor in the case of 11/3 postmark....
