... I heard about the chair Wednesday evening from a friend who lives out that way. By Thursday morning, when I headed out to chat with the chair-man, its fame had been spread nationwide by The Huffington Post and Gawker.com.

There was no answer when I rang Johnson's bell at 8:30 a.m. At noon, his garage door was up as Johnson, 73, aided by a single crutch, walked home from getting his mail. The chair was on the front lawn, no longer hanging.

"Mr. Johnson," I said in that friendly way that makes me beloved to all, "I'm Ken Herman with the Austin American-Statesman."

Johnson, who I soon pegged as a shoo-in first-ballot inductee into the Get-Off-My-Lawn Guy Hall of Fame, greeted me with "You're trespassing on my property." ...

it reminded people of how little the GOP has to offer.
I think of Romney's ineffectiveness more than I think of Obama
I mean its another example of an angry old white guy screaming at an empty chair.
