Jonathan Swan: "I just found this, you know, as a matter of history and this moment stunning,"

................

The reporter told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that he still can’t believe the president tried to put a positive spin on the coronavirus death rate in the U.S., where more than 158,000 have died from the pandemic.

“For me, one of the most striking sections of the interview is when President Trump whips out his own charts to try and make the case in contravention of all available evidence that the U.S. is leading the world on the coronavirus,” Swan said.

.............

“I just found this, you know, as a matter of history and this moment stunning,” Swan added. “You have the president of the United States denying what is in front of him, which is a death count that when you look at it and you match it up against other advanced countries, it cannot in any way be described as a good outcome, but that’s exactly what he’s trying to do. It’s applying salesmanship that works in the worlds of real estate and reality television to the worst pandemic in the century.”

People focus on the narcissism but their Peale thing is much more important. The one time he said things were going to get worse he said that he doesn’t like doing that. He doesn’t. It explains a lot about this disaster. It just couldn’t be - everything has just humming along - it. Just. Couldn’t. Be.

Frankly, I'm amazed the Dotard knew to call for a lifeline. "Deaths per Case", yeah, sure, that makes it all better.

The GOP does this same dance on every conceivable topic. Anyone who's spent time arguing with Cons online knows the ones that consider themselves smart guys (it's always White Men) wave every critique away with Gish Gallops and bullshit statistics.

they'll confess to the Manson murders. Maybe that's why he's consulting with John Yoo.

An important point to bring up: if he thinks the "Deaths per Case" is a measure of HIS performance, he is HUGELY mistaken--it's properly a measure of the DOCTORS' performance, NOT HIS!!!

Yes, maybe 25 percent will say Trump is correct. But 75 percent will say Donald Trump is lying through this entire
interview...

...That is down from the 40 percent that still approves...

....If everyone sees this, that 40 will go down to 30 or less....Her is why:

As Trump brings out the charts to show the interviewer, it is obvious to everyone (even 25 percent) that Donald Trump is lying. Of course, that 25 percent that still believe in him, will NOT tell the truth: that they see he is lying.
....... It doesn't matter....................................That 75 percent will defeat Donald Trump

..............................Trump shows himself to be what he is..."a total liar..."

Obama basically said he is a Bullshi**ter. That's what he is. A salesman, a propagandist, a con man. Maybe works fine in real estate or reality tv or even politics. Does not work with an extremely infectious disease that destroys lives and ignores the BS.

Theresienstadt was used as propaganda to pretend Jews were treated well. Of course they were punished severely if they didn't play along, and most were sent on to other camps for more brutal treatment and/or killing.

Right wing sh*theads will lie about anything. Why should we be surprised if they lie about dead bodies in plain view?
