OPEN THE SCHOOLS!!! Trump demanded, in all capital letters with three exclamation marks.

(12,712 posts)Judging by what happened when Israel opened schools mentioned in an article here just recently, we had better brace ourselves for a massive increase in spread and the death toll will increase correspondingly.
Yikes! The schools will most likely close again within a couple of weeks of reopening.
Let's not forget that COVID-19 is not like the flu at all and it is a highly infectious virus with the potential for exponential growth.
Opening schools haphazardly and prematurely is not going to go well at all. This Fall will be a nightmare and it makes you wonder why TRUMPGOP seems to encourage that, huh?

(8,067 posts)or pass on illness to others will be traumatized hearing about and seeing their classmates and their classmate's families suffer illnesses and deaths, not to mention teachers and other staff.
Not only will this pandemic kill more tens of thousands, and permanently disabled tens or hundreds of thousands more, but it will leave a wide swath of people--children and adults--suffering from their own versions of PTSD and "survivor's guilt."
All of this could have been avoided had we not had an ignorant, bigoted sociopath in office.
But but...Hillary's e-mails....
