Okay so this person is still testing positive for Covid after a month. They have been in the hospital and the hospital wants to get them out. The hospital is triaging in a tent in the parking lot. Georgia but not the Atlanta area.
There is a nursing home with Covid facilities but they are full. They are going back to the assisted living area of their retirement home. All of this is owned by the hospital. Theyve created a separate sealed off area (I think in some way negative pressure) for her and some others still testing positive. The staff really doesnt have to do much for them but the staff will be full PPE head to toe for any interaction. They will be on the first floor and have a window so they can see their spouse and visiting family.
WHEW!!!!!
There is a facility with negative pressure rooms suited to Covid cases but its full. The alternative was a Medicaid facility which I frankly was not in favor of. Medicaid facilities get paid Medicaid amounts and have Medicaid budgets - Im sure they do a good job but I didnt what that.

(182,826 posts)This all started with a fall and a broken arm. Thats healed and they just sit and watch TV and eat hospital food. No temp. Not really feeling ill. They just cant get a negative on a test.

(28,347 posts)That's the part that makes my heart ache -- the suffering. To know people are suffering just pains me.
It is something I fear the most, I think. Between my age and health issues I'd never make it.
I was in the hospital a couple weeks ago, and was scared to death I'd catch it. I've been so careful since March, and not being safely at home had me worried. Fortunately I was in a private room, and with a zillion hospital staff coming in and out ... well, you know ... but I'm back home, safe with my family, and doing well. Yay!
You stay safe.

(182,826 posts)My big dread was when she went into the hospital. Lots of stories of people never to be seen again and dying alone. Its killing us that we cant do anything. Not just hundreds of miles away but if we went, what would we do? What could we do? Nothing.
