According to Harry Hurt’s Trump biography Lost Tycoon, after being asked by a reporter, hours after the accident, to comment, via telephone, on the fatal crash that killed Stephen Hyde and several others, Trump muted the line and then said to the several high-level Trump staffers assembled before him, “You’re going to hate me for this, but I just can’t resist. I can get some publicity out of this.”

Switching the line back on, Trump issued for the first time a story that he’s stuck with all the way through this presidential election: “You know, I was going to go with them on that helicopter.”

He can't resist telling his cronies and retainers that what he's about to do is reprehensible and that they are going to hate him for doing it. Then he does it anyway.

Some people have suggested that due to his broken brain, Trump doesn't quite understand what he does, that he lacks empathy or he's such a narcissist that he can't resist making himself the center of attention. Whether he can resist or not may remain an open question, but it's clear that he knows he's making a dick move, but he doesn't care if others see him in a negative light because of it. He does it anyway.

He can tell the difference between right and wrong, but when he has to choose between the two, he always chooses Trump.

He knows people will disagree with him, but his thought is always and in every moment one where he asks himself, “How can I benefit from this” or “What’s in it for me.”

He is unburdened by guilt or remorse or shame. They don’t exist for him.

Can't wait to see how many parades and holidays will be initiated when that POS stops wasting good air.
