Executive orders

I was wondering about executive orders and checked google. I thought others might have wondered (or everyone else is just plain smarter than I am) and found this:

https://www.americanbar.org/groups/public_education/publications/teaching-legal-docs/what-is-an-executive-order-/

An excerpt from this article: Executive orders are not legislation; they require no approval from Congress, and Congress cannot simply overturn them. Congress may pass legislation that might make it difficult, or even impossible, to carry out the order, such as removing funding. Only a sitting U.S. President may overturn an existing executive order by issuing another executive order to that effect. (emphasis mine)

Among the things that are Joe Biden's day one list should be the overturning of executive orders. En masse. Every. Single. One.

And speaking of Joe Biden's Day One, I get physically sick when I think about the alternative. Think about it. 1,291 days waking up to the vile monster in the White House. 1,291 days of chaos, turmoil, hate. 1,291 days of utter, abject stupidity.

They may provide priorities in the execution of laws, such as Obama's EO that established DACA. It set priorities for the immigration service for the arrest and deportation of undocumented immigrants. First of course were those that committed crimes and last were the ones that would be covered by DACA.

Eliminating the "Acting as. . . " designation

Restoring environmental protections

Eliminating all proclamations regarding law enforcement, protests, etc.

Feel free to add more.

And, related, the creation of a commission to investigate. . . well, to investigate everything. Crimes, ethical violations, corruption, foreign influence, treason, and so, so much more. Budgeted in the billions, with a multi-year term, and real legal teeth. Headed by Schiff. None of this only looking forward thing. If we don't look back, it can happen again.

And since John Yoo has been whispering in his ear recently, he seems to think of them more so.

I'm so old that I can remember when the GOP angrily denounced President Obama every time he did one- and he mostly used them to do *something* about stuff that he could because Republicans refused to work with him on ANYTHING. He seemed pretty careful and limited with them, however.
